Gepubliceerd op 11 dec. 2015I need your help dealing with furnace error Code 24 for Carrier, Bryant, and Payne furnaces. Is that because you don’t know who made the furnace you have or they all use the same manufacturer? They are really all using the same components, barring the name plate. The error code 24 means the secondary voltage fuse is open for those brands. So Code 24 is for an open fuse.It could mean faulty wiring or it could mean an open fuse. The problem isn’t the fuse in the fuse box. If that was blown, the whole control board would be dead, instead of giving me a specific error code.It is a fuse you can replace, the violet one on a Payne furnace.I think my furnace is a Carrier. Or it is Bryant, their generic brand. The furnace error code on Carrier, Bryant, and Payne furnaces is typically the secondary fuse on the circuit board or the fuses to the blowers. What if it isn’t the fuses? The wire going out to the blowers could have exposed areas on it, causing the wiring to short out. That would blow a fuse if it was severe enough. You could have mice chewing on the wiring, shorting it out
