Contents 1 Overview 2 Standard Error Codes 3 Customized Error Codes 1 Overview You can see error codes when issues occur with your LDAP connection. An error code is associated with each type of issue. 2 Standard Error Codes Error http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=LDAP_Error_Codes / Data Code Error Description 0 LDAP_SUCCESS Indicates the requested client operation completed successfully. 1 LDAP_OPERATIONS_ERROR Indicates an internal error. The server is unable to respond with a more specific error and is also unable to properly respond to a request. It does not indicate that the client has sent an erroneous message. In NDS 8.3x through NDS 7.xx, this was the default error for NDS errors that did not map to an LDAP error code. To conform to the new LDAP drafts, NDS 8.5 uses 80 (0x50) for such errors. 2 LDAP_PROTOCOL_ERROR Indicates that the server has received an invalid or malformed request from the client. 3 LDAP_TIMELIMIT_EXCEEDED Indicates that the operation's time limit specified by either the client or the server has been exceeded. On search operations, incomplete results are returned. 4 LDAP_SIZELIMIT_EXCEEDED Indicates that in a search operation, the size limit specified by the client or the server has been exceeded. Incomplete results are returned. 5 LDAP_COMPARE_FALSE Does not indicate an error condition. Indicates that the resul
not this is LDAP. It allows users to use their usual local username and password in the repository rather than having to remember another password. LDAP services can be provided by a http://blog.stuartlewis.com/2008/07/07/test-ldap-service/comment-page-2/ Microsoft Active Directory (run by most institutions who have Microsoft desktop systems) or dedicated LDAP (e.g. OpenLDAP) service. One thing I've noticed with the DSpace testathons is that often LDAP does not get tested because https://groups.google.com/d/topic/coldfusion-talk/z4HP-SFSI1Y many of the developers do not have access to an LDAP system - for example in DSpace 1.5 LDAP authentication does not work with Manakin or SWORD. (I have fixed both in the upcoming 1.5.1 error code though ). With this in mind, and because I have to teach a DSpace technical course in 4 days time where we'll be covering LDAP configuration, I've created an open LDAP server which can be used for testing and training. Details: ldap.provider_url = ldap://ldap.testathon.net:389/ ldap.id_field = cn ldap.object_context = OU=users,DC=testathon,DC=net ldap.search_context = OU=users,DC=testathon,DC=net ldap.email_field = mail ldap.surname_field = sn ldap.givenname_field = givenName ldap.phone_field = telephoneNumber Users and their passwords are: stuart ldap error code / stuart john / john carol / carol Each user has a full name (Stuart Lewis / John Smith / Carol Jones), a telephone number and email address so should be fully functional. If you make use of this server, please drop me a line or leave a comment so I know. Otherwise it might get turned off…!mobi game This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged dspace, ldap, repositories on July 7, 2008 by Stuart. Post navigation ← It's raining docs - Hallelujah! Marin August 10, 2012 at 1:37 pm Hello, I am trying to use this test server. Do I need authentification details in order to access the directory? What is the basis DN for this server?(I do not understand what ist ment by Basis DN) Thank you for the contribution. Marin Marin August 11, 2012 at 5:37 pm Hello Stuart, Thank you for this. I wonder whether it is possible to use spring ldap authentification with this server and whether anyone managed to get a spring configuration to authenticate against this server. Probably I need somethind like the following
