CSS Asset Heroku SASS up vote 1 down vote favorite This has been bothering me for days now, ever since a week ago I launched to Heroku for probably the 30th time and all of a sudden I get this error I rails error compiling css asset DONT USE Sass!! It isnt in my gemfile or anywhere else! It works perfectly in localhost and all of the answers i've found online just dont work! This is my application.css /* * This is a manifest file that'll be compiled into application.css, which will include all the files * listed below. * * Any CSS and SCSS file within this directory, lib/assets/stylesheets, vendor/assets/stylesheets, * or vendor/assets/stylesheets of plugins, if any, can be referenced here using a relative path. * * You're free to add precompile assets heroku application-wide styles to this file and they'll appear at the top of the * compiled file, but it's generally better to create a new file per style scope. * *= require_self *= require_tree . */ Does anyone have any idea WHY heroku is giving me this annoying error PS: Incase you're wondering, i've used stack cedar when create the heroku app so its not that Thank You css heroku compilation sass share|improve this question asked Jun 22 '13 at 19:08 PMP 64117 Just out of curiosity, is your CSS file valid? –cimmanon Jun 23 '13 at 11:51 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Ok so after a while, I figured it out! The simplest, not-so-fastest but least stressful way of working this error out is by going on the file which Heroku is having errors compiling, in my case base2.css, and copy one by one each line of css code and input it in here CSS Validator, I HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend this, it'll tell you which lines have errors and which lines are okay. Furthermore, it'll re-write the code where it found the errors, it'll organise the new code given perfectly and even though it may seem like its as long as a book, it'll be the right code. You can then Minify the code they give you to turn the book long code into one line. share|improve this answer answered Jun 23 '13 at 15:04 PMP 64117 add a comment| Your An

Heroku Css Not Working

Join them; it only takes a minute: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17254361/error-compiling-css-asset-heroku-sass Sign up Heroku Error Compiling CSS Asset up vote 0 down vote favorite In my latest deploy to Heroku I'm getting this error: Error compiling css asset Rack:Timeout:RequestTimeoutException: Request waited 3ms, then ran for longer than 1500ms /app/vendors/bundle/ruby/2.20/gems-sass-3.4.22/lib/sass/tree/visitors/to_css.rba;67:in 'erase!" I'm not quite sure what has caused the issue, but I've narrowed it down to a specific deploy where things were working before http://stackoverflow.com/questions/37735254/heroku-error-compiling-css-asset but were broken after. The only thing I changed were html files and changed the value of a sass variable in one of the stylesheets. I committed to git then deployed to Heroku. I realized then that my jQuery wasn't working on the page, so I then precompiled locally (as I usually do) and deployed . Now the application is throwing that error and exceeding it's available memory. Yet, everything works just fine in development. Anyone have any idea of what went wrong? EDIT: I should add that the Rack timeout error is thrown by the rack-timeout gem which is designed to stop slow requests and log an error. So this isn't directly the issue, rather a result of an underlying problem that's prevented the page from responding within the allocated amount of time. Here's the gemfile as requested: #Use Jasny Bootstrap extension for input mask gem 'jasny-bootstrap-rails' #Use for Blog tags gem 'acts-as-taggable-on', '~> 3.4' #Use Carrierwave for image upload, fog for AWS S3 gem 'carrierwave' gem "fog-aws" gem "mini_magick" # Use bootstrap will-paginate for pagination styling gem 'will_paginate-bootstrap' #Use will paginate for pagin

For new users, we recommend reading Getting Started with Ruby on Heroku before proceeding further. Heroku recommends using the asset pipeline with a CDN to increase end user experience and decrease load error compiling css on your Heroku app. The Rails 4 Asset Pipeline If you are using Rails 4 and the asset pipeline it is recommended to familiarize yourself with the document below. Much of the behavior between Rails 3 and Rails 4 is similar. Once finished please read the Rails 4 Asset Pipeline on Heroku which covers the differences between the two experiences. The Rails 3 Asset Pipeline The Rails 3 asset pipeline is supported on Heroku’s Cedar stack. The new pipeline makes assets a first class citizen in the Rails stack. By default, Rails uses CoffeeScript for JavaScript and SCSS for CSS. DHH has a great introduction during his keynote for RailsConf. The Rails asset pipeline provides an assets:precompile rake task to allow assets to be compiled and cached up front rather than compiled every time the app boots. There are two ways you can use the asset pipeline on Heroku. Compiling assets locally. Compiling assets during slug compilation. Compiling assets locally If a public/assets/manifest.yml is detected in your app, Heroku will assume you are handling
