Error contacting apcupsd @ localhost:3551: Connection refused Hi all, I am trying to get apcupsd going. I have installed it thru synaptic, set it up accordingly to the various guides one can find across the net. When I run "acpaccess" I get the following error. "Error contacting apcupsd @ localhost:3551: Connection refused" What, if anything, can I do to rectify the above situtation. I am on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.2 Desktop. Thanks. Today I switch entirely to apcupsd ubuntu systemd and I love it so far, it's simple robust and efficient! However I found one problem when running $ systemctl --failedUNIT LOAD ACTIVE SUB JOB DESCRIPTION apcupsd.service loaded failed failed APC UPS Monitor LOAD = Reflects whether the unit definition was properly loaded. ACTIVE = The high-level unit activation state, i.e. generalization of SUB. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1778274 SUB = The low-level unit activation state, values depend on unit type. JOB = Pending job for the unit. 1 loaded units listed. Pass --all to see loaded but inactive units, too. To show all installed unit files use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.So I ran sudo systemctl status apcupsd.status for more detailed output:apcupsd.service - APC UPS https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=152534 Monitor Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/apcupsd.service; enabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Thu, 2012-11-08 20:49:19 CET; 1h 3min ago Main PID: 275 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) CGroup: name=systemd:/system/apcupsd.service Nov 08 20:49:19 traktor apcupsd[275]: apcupsd FATAL ERROR in linux-usb.c at line 609 Nov 08 20:49:19 traktor apcupsd[275]: Cannot find UPS device -- Nov 08 20:49:19 traktor apcupsd[275]: For a link to detailed USB trouble shooting information, Nov 08 20:49:19 traktor apcupsd[275]: please see

Faced with a trouble while trying to setup apcupsd on vMA. Here is config: /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf:UPSCABLE ether UPSTYPE snmp DEVICE 10.99.64.254:apc:public #(this is IP-address of my Smart UPS) NETSERVER onNISPORT 3551 (#and this is a port by default)But when I'm trying to connect to UPC I receive this error: Error contacting apcupsd @ localhost:3551: Connection refusedSo this is looks like problem is in iptables. But there is no any restriction in iptables of this machine (SUSE 11 based): sudo iptables -t filter -nvLChain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 113 packets, 11906 bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destinationChain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destinationChain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 22 packets, 4468 bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destinationCan you give me advice what should I check? Thank you. 920Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 0 replies Actions Remove from profile Feature on your profile More Like This Retrieving data ...
