Check your Internet connection, or try again later." Only experiencing this on my Air at work, not Pro at home. Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by Precious22, P

Thanks for the tip!I also went to "Preferences, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3760430?start=30&tstart=0 Advanced" to "Reset all dialog warnings" and "Reset iTunes Store cache".However, when I turned the Store off again, Radio stopped working! We are being punished for not buying stuff from Apple. I didn't install any software, update anything. It just stopped working.I was listening to radio, call came in so spacebar to stop. Tried to spacebar to restart and nothing. Quit and relaunched iTunes, nope. Rebooted the Mac, nope. Upgraded to latest version of iTunes, nope. Tried resetting the cache & warnings, as well as making sure Apple Store (where I do purchase lots of sound) was enabled, nope.So I'm out of options here.Anyone got a suggestion for an internet radio player? I don't mind paying and I won't waste any more time with iTunes. slightly weird iTunes/network problem, which I suspect may be DNS-related. I haven't tried the built-in iTunes radio stations in several months, but in the past they worked just fine for me. In the meantime, I have changed ISPs and http://www.mac-help.com/threads/req-help-with-radio-tuning-service-error-in-itunes.78936/ Macs. There are two ways I can connect to my new ISP: 1) Direct Ethernet from the cable modem to the Mac (dual 2.0 G5, OS X 10.4.2). In this case, in System Preferences -> Network, I have Configure http://mac.bigresource.com/iTunes-Cannot-Connect-to-Radio-Tuning-service-2PbNx8UKG.html IPv4 Using DHCP and no entries in the DNS Servers box, as instructed by the folks at my ISP. 2) Ethernet from the cable modem to a Linksys WRT54G router and then Ethernet from the router to the error contacting G5. The G5 is set to a static IP address on the 192.168.1.* network to facilitate port forwarding. To get DNS to work with the router, I enter 192.168.1.1 and 216.180.99.6 (the DNS server of a local ISP) into the DNS Servers box. In both of these cases, almost everything works just fine: email, www, bitorrent, Usenet, Shoutcast radio stations, etc. There's one problem, though: when I go to Source -> Radio in iTunes and click error contacting radio one of the triangles to reveal radio stations, I get this error message: "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later." I also tried to access the iTunes Music Store, and I got this error message: "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The host is down. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." This happens with iTunes 4.9, but also happened with iTunes 4.7. (I just updated to iTunes 4.9 yesterday thinking it might solve this problem. Nope.) I found an old tip at
click on the arrow/triangle to the left of the radio category that I want (and any other in the list, I've found), iTunes just sits and churns trying to connect to the radion tuning service. For instance, if I want the News/Talk Radio category, the message displayed is "Contacting tuning service...Refreshing News/Talk radio". And nothing happens. It never connects. Ever. I have tried all the usual things: restarting iTunes, restarting my computer (MacBook), checking the internet connection (absolutely no problem there), etc. Info: MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.2) View 1 Replies Similar Messages: ITunes :: Error Occurred While Contacting Radio Tuning Service ITunes :: An Error Occurred While Trying To Contact The Radio Tuning Service ITunes :: An Error Occurred While Contacting The Radio Tuning Service?
