(August 2008) (Learn how and when to remove this template message) In information theory and coding theory with applications in computer science laptop battery error detected and telecommunication, error detection and correction or error control are techniques that enable xuggler fatal error reliable delivery of digital data over unreliable communication channels. Many communication channels are subject to channel noise, and thus errors link-flap error detected on may be introduced during transmission from the source to a receiver. Error detection techniques allow detecting such errors, while error correction enables reconstruction of the original data in many cases. Error correction is the detection of errors and reconstruction of the original, error-free data. History[edit] The modern development of error-correcting codes in 1947 is due to Richard W. Hamming.[1] A description of Hamming's code appeared in Claude Shannon's A Mathematical Theory of Communication[2] and was quickly generalized by Marcel J. E. Golay.[3] Introduction[edit] The general idea for achieving error detection and correction is to add some redundancy (i.e., some extra data) to a message, which receivers can use to check consistency of the delivered message, and to recover data determined to be corrupted. Error-detection and correction schemes can be either systematic or non-systematic: In a systematic scheme, the transmitter sends the original data, and attaches a fixed number of check bits (or parity data), which are derived from the data bits by some deterministic algorithm. If only error detection is required, a receiver can simply apply the same algorithm to the received data bits and compare its output with the

Side-posts are now Blocks. If I am wrong...I'll check back and edit this post.EDIT!I was wrong...I thought it was something to do with this change to the layout which happened earlier this year.http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=149561The error you have "Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: Trying to reference an unknown block region side-post"I've come across it, but I just can't remember why it happens. I think is's something to do with the fact there is nothing to report, so instead of the message saying No Events or whatever it comes back with the error message. But then again...I'm probably wrong!Sam Hemelryk will know...he knows everything! Normally it's installed with Anaconda distribution, that error detected also ships Intel's MKL library (with LAPACK and BLAS routines). Expected results Executing scipy.test() from within python completes with the report on all errors and failures discovered. Actual results (with terminal output if applicable) scipy.test() doesn't complete and terminates python with the following error: OMP: Error #100: Fatal system error detected. OMP: System error #22: Invalid argument Aborted (core dumped) Your Windows build number Microsoft error detected on Windows [Version 10.0.14393] Steps / commands required to reproduce the error Run from terminal: python -c 'import scipy; scipy.test()' Strace of the failing command https://gist.github.com/Evfro/2d0d83745a92d3f6e2f52ce3675a273d The last thing before error there is the following line: sched_getaffinity(0, 4, 0x7fc7757a7e00) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument) Required packages and commands to install Install latest miniconda (Python 2.7): wget https://repo.continuum.io/miniconda/Miniconda2-latest-Linux-x86_64.sh bash Miniconda*.sh Update apt-get (prevents some errors): sudo apt-get update -qq Install scipy, numpy and nose (for running tests): conda install numpy scipy nose This will additionally install MKL and libgfortran-3. Note: test doesn't fail if nomkl versions of numpy and scipy are installed, however, MKL (especially its LAPACK and BLAS) is required for some other packages, so it's not really an option. 👍 3 deto commented Aug 5, 2016 Which packages is MKL required for? As far as I know, it was only added recently to their free-tier Linux installer so most things should work fine with nomkl. Evfro commented Aug 5, 2016 For example, this ones fails at compilation time with exactly the same error (and it's not possible to install w/o MKL): https://github.com/oseledets/ttpy I guess, there could be many more scientific computing pro
