Here is what it said. Error detected (-9972) while verifying/repairing volume disk0s2 Macintosh HD I ran OnyX the day before and had no issues. Here is what changed. I deleted Adobe Acrobat using AppZapper. I deleted all languages except for all forms of English using Monolingual. I ran software http://www.mac-forums.com/showthread.php?t=58454 update. The only updates were something about WWAN and a general fix Airport Extreme update. I rebooted and opened OnyX again. That's when I got the desk error. Does anyone know what I need to do to remedy the situation? Any help will be much appreciated! Reply With Quote 04-05-2007,08:22 AM #2 MacHeadCase Guest Cherokee, the AppZapper guys are real darlings when you have to deal with them, you might want to ask them if they think AppZapper is the cause of this error message: I think they'd be thrilled because this would help them make the app better. Just go to AppZapper and click on the Support tab, this will open an email and you can then describe the problem. Now about the error message... I googled for error -9972 mac os x but holy crap, here comes the teacher! Will have to look into this later, class is starting! Unless someone else picks this up for me. Later! I haven't found anything useful through Google searches yet... I emailed AppZapper support. We'll see if they have anything to say. Reply With Quote 04-05-

Its file system seems to be corrupted. When I mount it I http://www.onemorething.nl/community/topic/onyx-rapporteert-disk-error-detected/ always get a message telling me that the disk image is damaged but I've used it in its broken state for quite a while now and I have not encountered any problems. However, I'd prefer to have it fixed.Disk Utility error detected can't repair it:CODE$ diskutil repairvolume disk5s2Started verify/repair on volume disk5s2 iTunesChecking HFS Plus volume.Invalid B-tree node sizeVolume check failed.Error detected (-9972) while verifying/repairing volume disk5s2 iTunes$Then I tried fsck:CODE$ fsck /dev/disk5s2** /dev/rdisk5s2BAD SUPER BLOCK: MAGIC NUMBER WRONGLOOK FOR ALTERNATE SUPERBLOCKS? Back to top #4 Milan Milan Members 320 posts Posted 24 March 2009 - 12:14 PM I tried that a while ago and it didn't work. For some reason the new image had the same problem. I thought that was really weird because it really looked like it was a problem with the file system.I tried it again just now. It took half an hour to copy the files but now the new image seems to work.Well, thanks, problem fixed.
