the client stating the following (it differs from time to time) "Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote loopback error detected putting in err-disable state computer again." "Because of a protocol error detected at the client (code 0x1204), this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again." I've been running on the same windows 7 64 bit build on a Dell M4500 for well over a year in RDP sessions daily over VPN's without issue. Suddenly one occt error detected on core day last week i began receiving this error. I can, onoccasion, connect to local LAN RDP's without the error immediately but have experienced the error even on LAN sessions after 3-5 minutes of use. Sometimes on a LAN it will go much longer. Now, for remote sessions, i cannot authenticate at all. I typically get to the login screen, enter my credentials, then immediately the error pops up and drops the connection. Every time. I've tried this to multiple different WAN's so i know it's not at the server level. I also know it's not on my LAN as other PCs on the LAN connect fine without this error so it's local to this PC. After hours of diagnosing and reading articles i decided to just rebuild from the ground up, fresh install of windows, applied all service packs, updates and installed my VPN client and attempted the connection -- same error. I even used a brand new HDD (SSD) as i was wanting to upgrade
Messages: 21 Thanks Received: 0 Trophy Points: 4 Location: UK Hi All, I've got a Supermicro X8DT6/X8DTE I am running the latest BIOS 2.0c. I've just installed 12 8GB ECC Reg DIMMS and get the above error. They are https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/un-correctable-dram-ecc-error-detected-at-cpu02-dimm3a.44859/ all Hynix 8GB 2Rx4 PC3-10600R-9-10-E1 HMT31GR7BFR4C-H9 D7 AB. I switched DIMM slots and the error moved so I have identified the culprit DIMM, well I think anyway. What could be causing this, is this a problem with the DIMM or the Motherboard? I've found a few FAQs on Supermicro's site https://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/faq.cfm?faq=13758 that suggest a BIOS upgrade fixes the issue, but since I have the latest BIOS not sure what to do. I can't even run Memtest86+ error detected it starts and immediately reboots when this DIMM is in. I suggest you keep the stick, so you can use it in the future to confirm that you have configured ECC correctly. LOL But as Nick said, boot without the bad stick to confirm this is nothing else. And, use Memtest86 without the "Plus." By dead I mean when installed it takes out the other channel it's connected with. At first I thought I had 2 dead sticks until I found the culprit. I put back in the 4GB DIMMs I had replaced for these 2 faulty ones and ran Memtest86+ for the full duration with no issues and no errors reported for the remain
