Unable to update the quota file (.ftpquota) when creating FTP accounts Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by armin654, Sep 25, 2014. armin654 Well-Known Member https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/unable-to-update-the-quota-file-ftpquota-when-creating-ftp-accounts.429852/ Joined: Feb 12, 2014 Messages: 45 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 6 cPanel Access Level: Root Administrator Hello guys This is our new cpanel server. When users try to create FTP account they receive such error: (ftpuser is the username that customer choose for his ftp account) Error detected with pure-quotacheck for ftpuser [/home/user/public_html/ftpuser ]: Unable to update the quota file (.ftpquota): [Permission denied] What is the reason of receiving such error message? where is the ftpquota file to check its permissions and what owners and permissions should be set on that? ** Please note that although we receive such error message, but FTP accounts work without any issue and they will be created. This seems to be only issue with quota management of home directory of the FTP account. regards #1 armin654, Sep 25, 2014 cPanelMichael Forums Analyst Staff Member Joined: Apr 11, 2011 Messages: 29,472 Likes Received: 536 Trophy Points: 113 cPanel Access Level: Root Administrator Hello What are the permissions/ownership values on the "/home/$use

How can we fix this? EDIT: the site is working, so I don't know if any of the above matters, but I thought I should mention it. You must login before you can ask a follow up question.
