If the computer continues to function normally it could be something and nothing - try looking at your STARTUP folder,on your programs list and see if there is anything in the startup folder which needn't be there - this is XP of course. Programs in that folder start automatically - and if you can remove any from there - they will not start at bootup. Also check for any error log files -you can do a search for these using the file search system from the START button - they will be appended .LOG - or have "ERROR" in the file name. You can also go to CONTROL PANEL - ADMIN TOOLS - EVENT VIEWER- and open the APPLICATION ERROR log these are time stamped - so you should be able to match the clock time to when the error was reported and thus might get a clue to what is causing it.
