you're a SharePoint admin, webmaster, or site manager, and your users are asking questions about correlation IDs, this can help you. What a correlation ID is and isn't The correlation ID is not an error number or code. Simply, it's a GUID (globally unique identifier) that's automatically generated for every request that the SharePoint server receives. It's unique to each request, not each error. However when an error occurs, the error message contains the correlation ID that was an unexpected error has occurred sharepoint 2013 valid for the request at the time. It is meant to be used to help a SharePoint Admin trace what was happening at the time of an error. It is only valuable as an interactive tool to help the Admin track down your error. An Admin uses the correlation ID as "breadcrumbs" to retrace a requests or processes in the SharePoint Unified Logging System (ULS) to find what leads up to and causes a problem. If SharePoint gets an error that it can't identify while working on that task, it posts an "Unexpected error has occurred" message, and includes the correlation ID. The correlation ID can help find out what happened but doesn't identify what happened. Successful requests are tagged with a correlation ID as well as failed ones. It doesn't help to search for a specific correlation ID on the web, as every single one is different and unique to your server and that point in time. Where a correlation ID is valuable is tracing through a process. SharePoint creates a log (ULS) of everything it does when processing requests, and the correlation ID is basically the thread that ties

You can refer to this page for more information. Also make sure that the actual SharePoint web application being used is configured to use Kerberos instead of NTLM. Note that the white paper Brianna linked to has information about making sure that the Laserfiche Server SPNs are properly registered. However, the web part configuration and search configuration aren't quite the same in terms of getting Kerberos configured for those aspects. 1 0 Post Link Replies Sort by: Most popular Most popular Oldest to newest Newest to oldest replied on July 17, 2014 The fact that you can access the web part from the SharePoint Server machine indicates an issue with Kerberos. Did you follow all the steps listed in the Configuring Kerberos for the Laserfiche SharePint Integration white paper? 0 0 Post Link Be the first to start a discussion, ask a question, or create a checklist . Please try again.” up vote 0 down vote favorite On one of SharePoint sites on our server. While opening few .xlsx files users(including me) are getting the error "An error has occurred. Please try again.". When the user click's on any of these specific files, blank Excel Web App interface opens up with the following error. In the same document library there are .xlsx files which are opening properly in the Excel Web App interface. If i download these specific .xlsx files and open them in MS Excel they are opening normally.(I did this just to make sure the files are not corrupt somehow) I have few pointers, 1) It is not user-specific, as its happening to multiple users for same file. 2) It is not File specific, as the file which is giving error, works fine on another environment. 3) It is not Environment specific, as other files in same environment are opening properly. 4) I had made sure that Excel Calculation Services and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application are working(started state). 2010 excel-services share|improve this question asked Oct 14 '14 at 20:32 Amit Tyagi 58611125 Have you tried an iisreset, I had the same issue yesterday and an iisreset helped –user21399 Oct 14 '14 at 21:02 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote We faced a similar issue with random Excel documents working for one, but not for an other person having the same hardware and software installed.
