I am looking after this domain while the admin is away, so I'm not looking to make any large changes, just small changes and information gathering. My kneejerk reaction is DNS, which you can see colours my info below.Event Log 1030:More info from the Event Log about 1030, which happen http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1142596 every 5 minutes and 10 seconds, give or take a few seconds: Quote: SupportInfo1 1 SupportInfo2 2070 ProcessingMode 0 ErrorCode 8341 ErrorDescription A directory service error has occurred. DCName \\DC2.domain.comOn DC1, the DCName is DC1, on DC2 it is DC2. There's nothing else useful in terms of errors in the event logs, and I've looked for a while and not found anything non-error that looks related.DFS Issues:We have a drive (Q:) mapped by all desktops. It points to \\FQDN\dfs. Tends to behave most of the time. At unpredictable times (ie: sometimes right after logon, sometimes in the middle of the day, sometimes when the user had already been navigating through the directory structure), the time between double clicking on the desired folder and when it opens can be over a minute, while a gray bar creeps across the Explorer address bar. Haven't been able to reliably catch this happening in order to try Wireshark or other tools. Also, when the Windows servers do not come up nicely (they are all set to perform Windows Updates automatically, at the same time), sometimes desktops see nothing when they open the Q: drive, just a blank window. Disconnecting and remapping the Q: drive did not work. This was fixable this most recent time by changing the Path in the Referral list on the DFS tab to DC1 from DC2. Opening th
error has occurred. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80072095) Posted on January 9, 2012 by Paul Williams Back in December last I posted Synchronization Service Manager: https://blog.msresource.net/2012/01/09/an-update-on-the-error-a-directory-service-error-has-occurred-exception-from-hresult-0x80072095/ A directory service error has occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0×80072095). I have updated https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21682625/DC-will-not-replicate-does-not-know-FSMO-and-will-not-bind-to-LDAP.html this post with some additional information, namely the alternate option: Create the following containers in the configuration container of the AD DS that you are unable to create an ADMA for: CN=Organisation Name, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=Services, CN=Configuration, DC=corp, DC=contoso, DC=com CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=Services, CN=Configuration, DC=corp, DC=contoso, DC=com Both of these error has containers are of the type (objectClass of): msExchOrganizationContainer. Set the objectVersion attribute of the child container (CN=Organisation Name in the above example). I want to point something else out too. If you create the containers and forget to set the objectVersion (or possibly use an incorrect version –haven’t tested that one) you will get the following error: Repeated in textual format: Object error has occurred reference not set to an instance of an object. Setting a valid objectVersion should fix this issue. In my basic testing I set the objectVersion attribute to 13214 –the value that another Exchange 2010 organisation had. After doing this I was able to create an ADMA again. Note. Only the CN=

Solved DC will not replicate, does not know FSMO and will not bind to LDAP Posted on 2006-01-03 Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 9,789 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-13 I have 2003 DC that was loaded and forgotten... Meanwhile, we have changed FSMO role for infrasrtucture master and made other changes to sites and servers... I am trying to bring this forgotten DC up, but it will not replicate AD so I can not assign it to sites, nor use AD intergrated services like DNS... It will not replicate either.... Grrrr... 1. I noticed that DNS did not have entries for this DC so I created them manually... That got the machine to talk somewhat, but still not replicating. 2. DCDIAG /test:fsmocheck shows: [good-server] LDAP bind failed with error 8341, a directory service error has occured 3. The time on the machine is good with network time. 4. I have McAfee 8.0, but I turned off the policy that stops updates to the windws folders and that did not help. 5. The application log shows a 1030 (can not query group policy objects) and 1058 error (can not access file gpt.ini for GPO (... ) (Login failure: the target account name is incorrect)... 6. The directory service log shows 1925 (attempt to establish link to writeable replication link failed) and 1945 (AD did not perform an authenticated RPC to another DC because desired SPN for destination DC is not registered on the KDC...) errors. 7. The FRS log shows 13508 errors t
