you can often solve the problem highlighted. Error message Description 400 Bad file request The server didn't understand the request. This is usually because the syntax in the URL is wrong - check the punctuation and whether some letters have been incorrectly entered as upper or lower case. 401 Unauthorised The page you're trying to access needs an encryption key - probably a username and password. Check that you've entered them correctly. 403 Forbidden / Access denied This error is similar to 401 in that it's likely to be a username or password issue. Alternatively, the site's administrator may have restricted access to this page. 404 File not found The server can't find the page you requested. The page has either been moved to a different location or deleted, or you may have mistyped the URL (or followed an incorrect or out-of-date link). 408 Request timeout This means the request for the webpage has been stopped before the web server has finished retrieving it. You may have clicked the stop button on your browser or clicked on a link before the page has fully downloaded. 415 Unsupported media type The web server will not accept the request because the media type is not supported. 500 Internal server error The web page could not be downloaded because of an error on the web server. To resolve this, contact the site's administrator. 50

first digit of the status code specifies one of five classes of response; an HTTP client must recognise these five classes at firefox error messages a minimum. The phrases used are the standard wordings, but any human-readable alternative can be provided. Unless otherwise stated, the status code is part of the HTTP/1.1 standard (RFC 7231).[1] The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) maintains the http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10283/~/common-browser-error-messages-such-as-404,-500 official registry of HTTP status codes.[2] Microsoft IIS sometimes uses additional decimal sub-codes to provide more specific information,[3] but not all of those are here (note that these sub-codes only appear in the response payload and in documentation; not in the place of an actual HTTP status code). This class of status code indicates a provisional response, consisting only of the Status-Line and optional headers, and is terminated by an empty line. Since HTTP/1.0 did not define any 1xx status codes, servers must not[note 1] send a 1xx response to an HTTP/1.0 client except under experimental conditions.[4] 100 Continue The server has received the request headers and the client should proceed to send the request body (in the case of a request for which a body needs to be sent; for example, a POST request). Sending a large request body to a server after a request has been rejected for inappropriate headers would be inefficient. To have a server check the request's headers, a client must send Expect: 100-continue as a header in its initial request and receive a 100 Continue status code in response before sending the body. The response 417 Expectation Failed indicates the request should not be continued.[2] 101 Switching Protocols The requester has asked the server to switch protocols and the server has agreed to do so.[5] 102 Processing (WebDAV; RFC 2518) A WebDAV request may contain many sub-requests involving file operations, requiring a long time to complete the request. This code indicates that the server has received and is processing t
sections of messages Error, Forward and redirection responses may be used to contain human-readable diagnostic information. Success 2xx These codes indicate success. The body section if present is the object returned by the request. It is a MIME https://www.w3.org/Protocols/HTTP/HTRESP.html format object. It is in MIME format, and may only be in text/plain, text/html or one fo the formats specified as acceptable in the request. OK 200 The request was fulfilled. CREATED 201 Following a POST command, this indicates http://www.rockymountain.com/ref_browsercodes.htm success, but the textual part of the response line indicates the URI by which the newly created document should be known. Accepted 202 The request has been accepted for processing, but the processing has not been completed. The error messages request may or may not eventually be acted upon, as it may be disallowed when processing actually takes place. there is no facility for status returns from asynchronous operations such as this. Partial Information 203 When received in the response to a GET command, this indicates that the returned metainformation is not a definitive set of the object from a server with a copy of the object, but is from a private overlaid web. This may include error messages list annotation information about the object, for example. No Response 204 Server has received the request but there is no information to send back, and the client should stay in the same document view. This is mainly to allow input for scripts without changing the document at the same time. Error 4xx, 5xx The 4xx codes are intended for cases in which the client seems to have erred, and the 5xx codes for the cases in which the server is aware that the server has erred. It is impossible to distinguish these cases in general, so the difference is only informational. The body section may contain a document describing the error in human readable form. The document is in MIME format, and may only be in text/plain, text/html or one for the formats specified as acceptable in the request. Bad request 400 The request had bad syntax or was inherently impossible to be satisfied. Unauthorized 401 The parameter to this message gives a specification of authorization schemes which are acceptable. The client should retry the request with a suitable Authorization header. PaymentRequired 402 The parameter to this message gives a specification of charging schemes acceptable. The client may retry the request with a suitable ChargeTo header. Forbidden 403 The request is for something forbidden. Authorization will not help. Not found 404 The server has not found anything matching the URI g
a Web server. They have the format of N/A as the response code and a brief description of why a connection could not be established as the response message. The reason that N/A is in the response code is that Web servers return response codes after a connection is established and since a connection could not be established to the Web server, a response code could not be obtained. Client Response Code Messages (4xx) If a connection was established to a Web server, the Web server usually sends a response code and message. If the response code is less than 400, the Web page is considered not on error. If the response code is equal to or greater than 400, the Web page is considered in error. Web Server Response Code Messages (5xx) Response status codes beginning with the digit "5" indicate cases in which the server is aware that it has erred or is incapable of performing the request. The following glossary includes a detailed list of all the browser errors and an explanation of each. Connection Errors Invalid URL Invalid URL simply means that the format of the URL was invalid. The format should be in one of the following forms: http://www.xyzl.com http://www.xyz.com/ http://www.xyz.com/page.jsp http://www.xyz.com/page.jsp?QueryString No Response From Web Server No response from Web server occurs when: The Web server's IP address was found. A connection was established to the host computer running the Web server. A request was made to the Web server using the URL at which time there was no response from the Web server. Host Not Found Host not found occurs when the Web server's host computer could not be found using either its IP address or its host/domain name (Fully Qualified Domain Name). Time Out A time out occurs when a connection is established with a Web server, but the elapsed time to get the URL content has exceeded a predetermined set time. The default time out is set to 90 seconds. Connection Refused Connection refused occurs when the Web server's host computer is found, but the host computer refuses to establish a connection. Unexpected Error Unexpected error occurs when a connection cannot be mad
