Main features: Configurable page title and descriptions. There are no

author and date/time headers as with normal nodes. Any HTML formatted text can be be put in the page body. The error pages are themable. Users who are not logged in and try to access an

area that requires login will be redirected to the page they were trying to access after they login. Allows custom redirects for 404s. Since the error pages are not real nodes, they do not have a specific content type, and will not show up in node listings, or in a Popular Content block. At present, the module can be set up to handle 403 and 404 errors. Drupal only allows those two status drupal hide error messages from users codes to be assigned custom pages. However, the design of the module is flexible and can accommodate future status codes easily. Installation Please see the README.txt document included with the module for installation instructions. Custom error alternate for authenticated The project comes with a submodule: Custom error alternate for authenticated (Short name: customerroralt) . Enabling this submodule lets the administrator create an "insufficient permissions" page for authenticated users, distinct from a "please log in" page for anonymous users. Support Status This project is considered complete. However, reported bugs for the Drupal 7 branch will be fixed in a timely manner. Bugs in the issue queue for the Drupal 6 branch will only be fixed if accompanied with patches. Older versions are no longer supported. Community support in the form of patches are very welcome for both Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 versions, and will be given priority. For QA, the project needs community support in the form of review of patches, development versions and releases. The primary goal of the CustomError module is to remain lean and simple. This means that not all feature requests will be implemented, even if they are a good idea. Feature requests accompanied by patches are more likely to make it into a release. You might want to suggest it as CCK project feature request (here: http://drupal.org/project/issues/cck - but don't hold your breath). I think it would be feasible to create a module that added the option into the add content type form, and then intercept the validation process to check to see if it needs to include the error message - although you'd get two messages, https://www.drupal.org/node/542686 the standard message and the customised one. I was wondering if i could do something like this? http://drupal.org/node/134289 Where i could use the nodeapi to overide the custom error message? (drupal 6 though...) Thanks... After some research, the only way I'm finding is to write a whole separate function and custom error handling of each form field. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Isn't there just a simple way to change the default form validation error so I can get away from "XYZ field is required?" theming forms string-overrides share|improve this question edited Jun 7 '13 at 4:00 Triskelion 4,62021123 asked Jun 7 drupal custom error '13 at 3:24 LeoXela 1612 1 Hi and welcome to DA. Is the validation error message a normal status message or rather some javascript message showing up close to the field validated? –5chdn Jun 7 '13 at 6:04 By customize you mean to change strings or the way it looks? –Mołot Jun 7 '13 at 6:41 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote There are a number of options to resolve this issue: One option is using the String Overrides module to replace the string used to generate the message. Another option is to create a custom module that overrides the validation function for a particular form or field, replacing any error messages with the messages of your choosing.
