Solved ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED in FRS debug.log for SYSVOL Posted on 2014-07-21 Windows Server 2008 Active Directory 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 200 Views Last Modified: 2015-06-26 Hi all, I'm preping for a migration from FRS to DFS for our SYSVOL replication, before I bring our first 2012 AD server online. While checking FRS for errors with FRSDiag I got errors on one of our servers, which I have posted below. What are these errors and how do I fix them? About our AD setup: We have 2 sites, Site1 and Site2. Site1 has 2 AD servers, ADSRV05 AND ADSRV06. ADSRV05 holds all FSMO rolls. Site2 only has 1 AD server, ADSRV04. All AD servers are running 2008R2 SP1. Errors from FRSDiag: Checking for errors in debug logs ... ERROR on NtFrs_0005.log : "ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED" :

If I stop and restart the File Replication Service or just reboot I see 13501 telling me the File Replication Service is starting and then I get 13562 telling me some warnings are about to appear. I then see 13508 saying "The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=354712 SERVER2 to SERVER1 for c:\windows\sysvol\domain using the DNS name server2.mydomain.com. FRS will keep retrying. Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning. [1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name server2.mydomain.com from this computer. [2] FRS is not running on server2.mydomain.com. [3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers."I'm not seeing any DNS errors and all three servers can ping each other using the NetBIOS name as well as the FQDN. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions? I did a net time /setsntp:time.windows.com from serve1 and did a net time \\server1 /set /y from server2 and server3. None of the servers has multiple enabled NICs and they all point to each other for DNS resolution. Here are some dcdiag and netdiag logs from the PDC emulator (server1):dcdiag lognetdiag logrepadmin log Guido331 Ars Centurion Registered: May 10, 2001Posts: 315 Posted: Fri Oct 07, 2005 2:40 pm One thing I just realized is two of the DCs are missing NETLOGON shares. I've seen the sysvolready registry key to enable the sysvo
