Unanswered question This question has not been answered yet. When I try to recommend a new baseline, I get the following error: Error setting the recommended baselines for this stream. No permission to perform operation "change activity", Must be one of: object owner, VOB owner, member of Administrator's group. The problem is that I am part of the admin group. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks SystemAdmin 110000D4XK 47290 Posts Re: Clearcase Error when setting recommended baselines for stream 2005-11-03T17:13:01Z This is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. Is the admin group you belong to the same as the group that the Atria Location Broker service runs under? That is the group that ClearCase refers to as the "Administration Group". > When I try to recommend a new baseline, I get the > following error: > Error setting the recommended baselines for this > stream. > No permission to perform operation "change > activity", > Must be one of: object owner, VOB owner, member of > Administrator's group. > > The problem is that I am part of the admin group. > Does anyone have any suggestions? > > Thanks SystemAdmin 110000D4XK 47290 Posts Re:Clearcase Error when setting recommended baselines for stream 2005-11-03T17:31:40Z This is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. I ran into this a few months ago, here is what I did to correct the issue: Apply the policies to the project and streams to allow the class the ability to promote the baseline: 1. From a command-prompt, change to
recommend; chstream; policy; interop; 1147104 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) This technote explains why the error, cleartool: Error: No permission to perform operation "change activity" will occur even after enabling POLICY_CHPROJECT_UNRESTRICTED and POLICY_CHSTREAM_UNRESTRICTED when using IBM Rational ClearCase UCM in an interop environment. Symptom After enabling both POLICY_CHPROJECT_UNRESTRICTED and POLICY_CHSTREAM_UNRESTRICTED, any user in the group that owns the project should be allowed to recommend a baseline in the project. Note: These policies were made available in a patch for Rational ClearCase 2002.05, refer to https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=98935 technote 1147119 for more details. However, the following error still occurs: G:\clearCase\mbilling123_PGNG-UNIX_Construction>cleartool chstream -recommended PGNG-UNIX_Construction_10_09_02 PGNG-UNIX_Construction_integration@\PGNG_Proj

cleartool: Error: Must be one of: object owner, VOB owner, member of ClearCase group
cleartool: Error: Unable to set the recommended baselines for stream "PGNG-UNIX_Construction_integration".
cleartool: Error: Unable to change all streams. http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21147104 Cause In an interop environment, the credentials check for recommending a baseline will fail when the users' username on Microsoft Windows is not identical to the users' username on UNIX (or Linux™). For example, dbilling123 on Windows is mapped to dbilling on UNIX (or Linux). Environment This is an unsupported interop environment because the usernames do not match between UNIX (or Linux) and Windows. Resolving the problem Change the usernames on either UNIX (or Linux) to match Windows or vice-versa, refer to technote 1146784 for more details. Symptom When performing a cleartool rebase, the following error message is returned: M:\repro_int>cleartool rebase -baseline baseline:proj1_new_baseline@\pvob1 cleartool: Error: Invalid configuration Baseline "proj1_new_baseline@\pvob1" is unlabelled cleartool: Error: Unable to rebase stream "repro_proj_int". This indicates that the hyperlink between the baseline error setting the and its associated label type is either missing or broken, as seen in the below output under Hyperlinks: Note: This behavior can also occur if the label type for the baseline does not exist.
