Set the video to use xvmc in the mplayer settings. It sort http://www.cubieforums.com/index.php?topic=763.0 of works. I get accelerated video, but I cannot resize or zoom and it ignores aspect ratio data. I have used both Cubian and Cubieez.Make sure the Mali modules are loaded by editing /etc/modules Logged ssvb Jr. Member Posts: 72 Karma: +5/-0 Re: How to add cedarx to mplayer? « Reply #2 on: September 28, 2013, 01:02:18 pm » Quote from: Tokka on September 14, 2013, 11:34:04 amHi all, there is a way to add cedar to mplayer (something like ./configure --enable-cedarx), ot it must be added from mplayer developpers? Thanks https://github.com/linux-sunxi/libvdpau-sunxi Logged GregE Newbie Posts: 8 Karma: +1/-0 Re: How to add cedarx to mplayer? « Reply #3 on: September 29, 2013, 09:13:40 am » Update to earlier answer ......The answer to video acceleration is to load the mali driver in Xorg. It is a two step process. The modules must be loaded, than Xorg has to actually use them.sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-sunximaliyou might also needsudo usermod -a -G video cubieSet Gnome Mplayer to use xv.Mine is now working fine, full screen, smooth

That depends on *which* GeForce card you have. vdpau will only help you if you have a GeForce 6 series card or later *and* are running with the nvidia driver. The more later, the more it can help you. If you are using nouveau or nv, you can't benefit from vdpau support. > Presumably things would go badly if it found libvdpau_nvidia.so . > > Once upon a time, I knew what DRI failure meant, > but I've forgotten and googling turns up questions but no answers. DRI = Direct Rendering Infrastructure. It is the main support for 3D acceleration in X11 these days. In the video world, DRM is the Direct Rendering Manager. This looks like you have a Radeon card of some sort. Radeon is made by AMD these days (used to be ATI). GeForce is made by nVidia. > from mplayer -V, the last lineis > >> vo: x11 uninit called but X11 not initialized.. Yeah, I get this message from both my laptop and my desktop. The former has an ATI chipset, the latter an nVidia one. What is in your /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf file? It should show the vo options it will try and use. Mine uses: vo=xv,xvidix, and I don't have those problems.... The man page for mplayer for video output options. You can override by using the -vo command line option.
