I had never seen this http://www.file.net/process/cvpnd.exe.html before, and actually re-staged the machine because I could not fix it. Now that I have had another 6 machines pop up with the same thing, I now have to find the problem. I did a search, and on the net and here, this error is associated with Zone Alarm. I am having this error pop up with our Cisco VPN client. It originates in C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\CVPND.EXE. I have un-installed the client, https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21277637/C-Program-Files-Cisco-Systems-VPN-Client-CVPND-EXE-validation-failed-for-C-WINNT-system32-VSINIT-dll.html and upgraded to a higher version, and still get the same error. I went through the registy, removing anything I could associate with Cisco, and again, still get the same error. This is happening on Win 98, and Win 2K machines. I have yet to see this on an XP box. After the error occurs, I receive another error, which is "Warning 201:The necessary VPN-sub-system is not available. You cannot connect to the VPN server." Any ideas on this, as it is truelly puzzling me. Thanks. Also, as a side note, on the Win 2k machines, they are receiving another error on bootup. States that some system files have been replaced, insert Win2k cd to restore windows files. I have run Spysweeper, and Ad-Aware SE. I have also run Computer Associates antivirus, along with Stinger, and I still have not come up with anything. 0 Question by:brutl84997 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 12 Best Solution bykneH Well that's weird. Just for testing purposes try this: Rename the VSINIT.dll to something else. Then try again. See what error you get. And let me know!
