"0x7c918fea" ref memory @ "0x00000010" The memory could not be written. I've seen comments from other members suggesting disabling http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/208412-svchostexe-application-error-0x7c918fea/ Win Auto Update and but this hasn't worked. Symptoms of the error include: Nvidea Graphics Card (GeForce Go 6800) mishaps such as WinXP effects crash back to classic 3.11 or Safe Mode style before correcting itself; default sound mixer becoming disabled (although Hardware Devices say it's working correctly) and sounds still coming from the laptop speakers. Also, my Vodafone Mobile Connect Card (Huawei E272) has stopped working (despite upgrading the firmware) although the hardware device appears to be working fine. Various Registry Fix apps later and the situation has not improved. Any advice will be appreciated. If yes, try to boot to "last known configuration". If that doesn't work try System Restore (Start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore). 0 #3 metroav Posted 17 August 2008 - 02:33 PM metroav New Member Topic Starter Member 3 posts Hi Skeptic, on the reboot that led to this login it fixed itself - but see below for the fiery hoops I jumped through . . . I tried Safe Mode - and System Restore - but SR was unable to revert to a previous Restore Point (nice one WinUpdate!). Now,

Could this be the problem? Although she swears that she gets this pop-up error even when the AIM is not running, so i dont really know what is going on at the time the error occurs. What should i look for when it happens again? thanks, Joe "PA Bear" wrote: > And what were you doing when you get the error? > -- > ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) > MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE) > > noresemblance wrote: > > iexplore.exe.Application Error. The Instruction at "0x7c918fea" referenced > > memory at "0x00000010".The memory could not be "written". > > Click on OK to terminate the program. > > Click on Cancel to debug program. > > > > This dialog box appears and explorer then drops out.Running xp pro > > version > > 5.1 and iexplorer 6.
