Below is explorer exe error message a summary of a problem I just started experience with Windows 2000 Professional Edtion. Service Pack 4 is installe, and has been re-installed, which did not help. Also, IE6 - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314867 SP1 has been uninstalled and re-installed and was not help. Please help! After living with it for a day I noticed the following. 1) I get the following error message when I double click "My Computer" or any folders located on my desktop: "explorer.exe has generated errors. A log file is being generated." You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. This has occured on rare ocasions for more than a year. About 6 months ago this started occuring when I would try to access at least 6 or more different floppies in the A: drive. Recently the frequency has increased. About the same time I was getting messages (not simultaneously) that the paging file needed to readjust its size or that the paging file partition was low on free space (I had a 768MB paging file on a 773MB FAT32 partition). Thinking this might be the cause, I decreased the paging file size on that partition to 750MB. No more paging file messages, but no effect on the Explorer problem. The frequency of this problem continues to increase. This now occurs sometime
