But then the output of the command is expected to be displayed, e.g if the command we used is ipconfig then we should see that info of the remote machine, but that is not happening. Is there something I am missing here. It fixed one problem which it had not even caused itself (cf. PSExec is ignoring -i after kb956572 is installed.), but broke more basic functionality instead. Cf. Problem with psexec 1.95 and Psexec and piping batch reults.Related to your problem, psexec eats the screen output of a remote console command, cf. this post: Using psexec v1.94 the script works fine here and returns all the j
takes a few minutes. Join Now I've been trying to capture screenshots of remote machines (across a MPLS tunnel) to determine if a certain issue has been resolved without interrupting the user. I'm using PSExec (SysInternals PSTools) with NirCMD.exe to attempt to get screenshots. Here's the command: psexec.exe \\192.168.1.7 -u "mydomain\administrator" -i -c nircmd.exe savescreenshot "c:\shot.png" When I try it I get "CMD exited on (remote PC) with error code 0." I also get this error when I simply login to the remote PC in the CMD prompt, then logout http://forum.sysinternals.com/psexec-returning-error-code-0_topic18991.html with this command: psexec.exe \\192.168.1.10 -u "mydomain\administrator" -p "password" cmdI've noticed that RPC fails on my first attempt frequently, but then works, so I've brushed it off, but maybe that is the issue here. Lastly, I found the commands on this site: http://rawtechnology.blogspot.com/2012/11/take-screenshot-of-remote-computer-with.html?showComment=1... However I have found that sometimes I have to put the command ie: "nircmd.exe savescreenshot "c:\shot.png"" into a .bat file, copy the file to the remote drive, and then run it from there. It is also important to note that the shot.png file will be saved on the remote c: drive. Lastly, be sure that the user which you are using has permission to write directly to c:\, you might have to use a lower directory. 1 Thai Pepper OP CrimsonKidA Apr 3, 2014 at 5:50 UTC (root) wrote: error code 0 = SUCCESS!Gotcha. I am running PSExec 2.4.4 and I am trying to remotely connect to a Windows XP machine from Server 2K3 Simple command to test: psexec \\II-PDM-01 -u domain\xxxxxx -p xxxxxxx cmd /c start /wait c:\gettime.bat I connect just fine, but the BAT doesn't run, I have tried the -i switch https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/151081-psexec-returning-error-code-0-but-not-working to get the display on the remote machine and all I get it a window that opens and https://forum.qt.io/topic/21427/solved-program-exited-with-code-0 says C:\Windows\System32 cmd prompt the get time.bat should simply display the time and wait for a key to be depressed (stricly testing) I have PSexec working fine from Svr2k3 to svr2k3 and even svr2k8 just not XP so I'm wondering if this is a XP thing..... Besides it's safer to use -c switch to copy given bat script to remote machine, so you don't have to depend on belief it's there. Keep also in mind psexec runs on remote machine with system privileges, so system account has to have access to given bat script. 0 Jalapeno OP TShuee Aug 10, 2011 at 9:07 UTC I am just using the time.bat as a test as I don't have a test server available that matches that system therefore I'm using the production server, the time thing was just to test running the remote batch file. I need to run another .bat ( PDMFINAL.bat) file that can only be run once a day in reality. I'm automating a lengthily nightly process and the PDM (Product document management) server is ONLY a production server , it's on my plate to upgrade to at least svr2K3 in the next few months. but I'm going through a corporate HQ move within the next month and trying to prep for that also. @Waldo.
