Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up. You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it. If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good. If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. Panasonic mini system died last weekend. It just shuts off immediately with a "F61" error upon powering up. I tried replacing the fuse, but that didn't appear to be the http://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/panasonic-sc-ak600-broken-with-f61-error.54438/ issue. Research on Usenet suggests that the output IC may be bad(?) Is http://audio.yoreparo.com/reparacion_de_audio/panasonic-sa-ak600-quotf61-quot-t49416.html this something which I might be able to easily fix myself? If so, does anyone know where I might be able to find a service manual or diagrams for this unit? If I need to take this to a repair shop, how much might a repair cost? Thanks, Y.M. (if you haven't, i appologize for getting your hopes up with this "i have the same problem" post). But yeah, mine crapped out yesterday, and i reeeally don't want to take it to a repair shop if its theres easy solution, since it'll probably cost me just to have someone "look at the problem". Any info you have would be appreciated. damnwright, Dec 11, 2004 #3 Advertisements Show Ignored Content Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question?
