this answer? Yes No Sorry, something has gone wrong. Talked to support, and they said that it probably needed a new power amp, ic501 (I think). Searched the web and was told to check the cooling fan on the back of the unit. It wasn't spinning. There was another small fan inside that would spin for 10 seconds or so, and would stop. After pressing the power button, I spun the fan with my finger (as best as i could) and the unit powered on, until I stopped spinning. I took it out, cleaned it, and the unit worked fine. A new power amp unit is $95, this cost me nothing, but even if I needed a new fan, it has to be less than $5. Good luck. Source(s): John M · 8 years ago 1 Thumbs up 0 Thumbs down 1 c

What can I do? Submitted: 6 years ago. Category:Consumer Electronics Share this conversation Expert: James replied6 years ago. Hi There,Typically the F61 error refers to a power amp issue, you'd be best off taking this to a local electronics http://www.justanswer.com/electronics/34xew-panasonic-sa-ht740-dvd-home-theater-sound-system-problem-when.html shop to get it fixed. Before you do however, it may be worth taking the cover off of the unit and cleaning the fans so that they spin freely, I've been reading quite a bit lately that if the fans are broken or full of dust then this error will also be triggered. It may also be worth disconnecting all of the speaker connections from the SA-HT740 and then trying to power it on, it could be that you have a short on one of the speaker lines, either due to a faulty speaker or faulty cabling.Hope this helpsJames Ask Your Own Consumer Electronics Question Share this conversation Related Consumer Electronics Questions Question Date Submitted I have a new BDR-XD05B THAT MY COMPUTER PERSON TOLD ME TO 10/23/2016 10/23/2016 Nathan Just bought this yesterday. Published on Aug 13, 2012The Panasonic SA-HT75 (and subsequently lots of other Panasonic models) have great sound but a huge flaw that prevents them from shining: The fan is set to come on and cool your system when the unit reaches a certain decibel level, NOT when it reaches a certain temperature. Idiotic? Yup.So, here's the fix. In the video you'll notice a wire that goes across the top near the front-left (when viewing from behind). It's voltage is ~12-13v... and the fan is 12v. We're just going to splice this into the fan, and we're good.Worked for me, but I hold no responsibility for your machine. I bought this system at a garage sale for $4 including the receiver, so I'm just making sure I can eek even more wonderful hours out of it.Have fun! Leave a message if you had success!
