Toms Posted Sep 28, 2009 Hey. Had the same problem. Took off the lid, cleaned fans (both of them) from dust. Removed from connection, put it back. Plugged in and both fans started to work without interuptions and problem solved! Thanks! Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 Susan Posted Sep 01, 2009 Hey, I have had the same problem and I took the fan off and left the machine unplugged for about three minutes. I plugged it back in and turned it on and low and behold it came on.

Once the fan is clean you must unplug and it seems to reset or something. Good luck to all, I knwo it is frustrating. Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 Rodolfo Elshoff Posted Jul 18, 2009 Hey guys i came here as first aux to see if u could find the solution to the error code.... my parents thought i had damaged the component by moving it from living room to my room... actually i took the idea of taking off the cover and cleaning the fan area, which i did and the actually it worked right away... thnx for the help and if u r experiencing this issue, that is the way to fix it... some how it appears to be that when the fan is dirty and doesnt work properly due to the dust, it sends out this error message... I read somewhere that IC502 could also throw f61 icd 10 the code, but I'm not sure how to test it. 502 is an 8 pin IC type 5218A. Anyone have any advice? Thanks! I've replaced several power supply ICs (in addition to the power control module), to no avail. There are several burnt looking areas on PCB near power supply ICs, and I changed them with identical ICs from the same board of another unit. Still no good. I've also ruled out the active subwoofer since I've tried it with two http://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/panasonic-f61-code.229785/ different subwoofers and the problem is still there. It's definitely on the main PCB, since I've swapped every other board/cable with those from the other unit. I have a service manual with wiring schematics for the unit, but I can't attach it here due to file size limitations.I can send the service manual if anyone has a clue or thinks they can help. I will post a photo in a separate thread. So far I've replaced IC2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8. Also Q752,Q750, and several others. Now I'm suspecting IC701 Digital sound controller. It appears that IC701 is connected to the active subwoofer and speakers. Admittedly, I'm not an expert and don't have much experience on troubleshooting consumer electronics. I've always had an interest in this kind of stuff and want to learn more. This is typically caused by a bad output amplifier pac or regulator. If you can post the specific model number, I'll try to get you the part numbers and costs.
