Sound like we all been going through the same thing with this error, like many of you I used to blow it and have the dust blow in my face too! lol, then I used to vacuum it and then it worked. after a while I had to open it up, take out the side fan and back fan and clean them up and then the error would go, a couple of months ago that fix no longer worked, had to replace the side fan which only cost £2 and it came from china, and then the back fan would no longer move no matter how much I cleaned it, I thought I would have to replace it but I didn't thanks to Bill's post, I peeled of the sticker and put a quick spray of WD40

Talked to support, and they said that it probably needed a new power amp, ic501 (I think). Searched the web and was told to check the cooling fan on the back of the unit. It wasn't spinning. There was another small fan inside that would spin for 10 seconds or so, and would stop. After pressing the power button, I spun the fan with my finger (as best as i could) and the unit powered on, until I stopped spinning. I took it out, cleaned it, and the unit worked fine. A new power amp unit is $95, this cost me nothing, but even if I needed a new fan, it has to be less than $5. Good luck. Removed from connection, put it back. Plugged in and both fans started to work without interuptions and problem solved! Thanks! Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 Susan Posted Sep 01, 2009 Hey, I have had the same problem and I took the fan off and left the machine unplugged for about three minutes. I plugged it back in and turned it on and low and behold it came on. Once the fan is clean you must unplug and it seems to reset or something. Good luck to all, I knwo it is frustrating. Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 Rodolfo Elshoff Posted Jul 18, 2009 Hey guys i came here as first aux to see if u could find the solution to the error code.... my parents thought i had damaged the component by moving it from living room to my room... actually i took the idea of taking off the cover and cleaning the fan area, which i did and the actually it worked right away... thnx for the help and if u r experiencing this issue, that is the way to fix it... some how it appears to be that when the fan is dirty and doesnt work properly due to the dust, it sends out this error message... Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 claudia Posted Jun 21, 2009 I take the cover and blow the fan and start working again! I think is a fan problem, try to move it with your hand if doesnt go alone.
