Submitted: 6 years ago. Category:Consumer Electronics Share this conversation Expert: Aric replied6 years ago. This is an error code that the Panasonic cannot read the disc. Try the following procedures to try and fix the problem:Try unplugging power to the unit for 60 minutes, then plug back in and try again. This will reset the f61 error code unit's microprocessor and hopefully clear the fault. You can try several methods of cleaning the laser lense to see if it helps clear up the problem. The first (and easiest) is to purchase a DVD/CD laser lense cleaner disc, and run it through the system several times. If your player is not reading any discs at all though, then try purchasing a can of compressed air (available at Staples, or Wal-Mart). Open the DVD drawer, or remove the cover of the player (whichever you're most comfortable with), and spray the can approximately 10" from the lense itself to blow any dust off of it. If it still does'nt work, you can opt to clean the lense eye itself, by using isopropyl alcohol, and a link-free cloth to gently whipe the "eye". Then use a dry spot on the cloth to buff the eye clean. If the DVD player is still giving you the error code, then the eye or transport mechanism is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this answers your question, please click "Accept". Hi There,Typically the F61 error refers to a power amp issue, you'd be best off taking this to a local electronics shop to get it fixed. Before you do however, it may be worth taking the cover off of the unit and cleaning the fans so that they spin freely, I've been reading quite a bit lately that if the fans are broken or full of dust then this error will also be triggered. It may also be worth disconnecting all of the speaker connections from the SA-HT740 and then trying to power it on, it could be that you have a short on one of the speaker lines, either due to a faulty speaker or faulty cabling.Hope this helpsJames Ask Your Own Consumer Electronics Question Share this conversation Related Consumer Electronics Questions Question Date Submitted Need to purchase remote control for Toshiba LCD Colour TV 10/17/2016 10/17/2016 Nathan I have a Pioneer SX750 that I have not powered up in 10 10/17/2016
