After cleaning the dirt from around a cap. it seems to be working again and I am trying to reload it from the Desktop. In the end I basically succeeded but I haven't recovered the mapping of applications to built-in Launcher categories and it worries me that something else may be missing. I had done a hard reset. I have apps in flash which are preserved and I will leave. Also some pdb backups - but which I am not going to restore as Desktop was the most uptodate. Each install failed as follows: ... The last month or so, every time I hot sync, I get an error: "Backup synchronization aborted", "failed to backup 1 files - AddrsingLibRecent -HsCh", Protocol error-unknown error (4403)." Everything seems to get sync'd with my computer so I guess it's not a big hotsync error 4403 deal, but it would be nice to have something on vista finish without errors. Thanks for any help.
