Hotsync Error Connection Is Lost 6410
long idle Wrist PDA, I ran into HotSync error 6410 - connection lost. Palm's knowledge base had some suggestions, however, none of their workarounds resolved my problem. Instead, the problem went away by enabling just the "Local USB" connection (and disabling the other "Local", "Modem", and "Network" connection types by right clicking on the HotSync menu in the System tray). I have been hotsyncing via bluetooth with no problems for months. I bought a new laptop with an internal bluetooth card https://markwarren.wordpress.com/2010/05/06/fixing-hotsync-manager-6410-error-connection-lost/ and was able to hotsync with no issues for a couple of weeks. Suddenly, I get this error almost everytime I sync. The error occurs in any physical location, so I think I have ruled out interference form an outside source. I still can sync via usb, or even bluetooth on my other systems. It's this one laptop that is having a problem, I think. http://forums.webosnation.com/palm-os-devices-apps/78517-hotsync-error-connection-lost-6410-a.html Any ideas? I had to do a soft reset. I retried the hotsync and it did the exact thing at the exact part of the epocrates update. I then checked "do nothing" in the epocrates conduit and this time it hung at the "syncronizing tasks" for more than 10 minutes before I attempted to cancel the hotsync (even that wouldn't work). I am afraid to try again because his info is so critical to him that I cannot afford to lose it. Curious that you got the exact same hotsync error log since I have been using Palms for many years and have never seen this message and now hearing about it twice in 24 hours. I'm using EPIM on Win XP SP2. Palm Hot Sync version is 7.0.2 When I attempt a hot sync, it takes over 5 minutes and I get the following error message: Hot Sync operation completed with errors. Operation interrupted. Some data not backed up. View log. When I try to view the log, the sync manager freezes. In order to get to the manager, I have to re-boot the computer. Then the hot sync manager will open and I can read the following: Datebook, Address, To do, Memo successfully backed up EPIM Sync Aborted. Protocol Error: Unknown Error (6140) I then attempt to expand the EPIM list and the manager freezes again. Any assistance would be appreciated. crkorrol Top Max Site Admin Posts: 18461 Joined: Wed Dec 08, 2004 11:39 pm Hasthanked: 243 times Beenthanked: 215 times Contact: Contact Max Website Quote Postby Max » Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:06 pm What device you have?
