if the printer is recieving data. Trying to print anything (print job via connected PC, printing a test pace) results in simply nothing. The light http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/69192 remains blinking, the job times out. Oddly, if I open the top cover, http://superuser.com/questions/518141/hp-laserjet-2550-has-a-carousel-motor-error the printer shows a service error. The message seems quite random, I've seen scanner error, top-of-page-sensor error and fuser error so far.I managed to revive the printer twice using some of the circulating reset codes which worked fine as long as I did not open the top cover. The prints themselves showed no hp color sign of any problems.Unfortunately, I don't have HP Toolbox availible, so I cannot readout the event log.Is there any hope left or should I say goodbye?TIA,Stefan Respond to this 0 When you get a set error light pattern, push both green and orange buttons for the secondary error code. Update the firmware. by unknown on Nov 18, 2010 at 3:59pm Add comment Please sign in to hp color laserjet comment 0 As stated above, the secondary error code seems quite random. In about three quarters, it's the ready light blinking meaning a top-of-page-sensor error. Sometimes I've also gotten a solid ready light pointing to a scanner error. In two or three rare cases, I've also seen a fuser error (solid ready and go light). As the error lights don't seem to follow any scheme, I'm rather insecure where to start. I've checked the scanner, the fuser and the top-op-page-sensor and changed the drum with no result.Like you suggested, I also tried a firmware update. Now, after booting, the printer goes in ready state. But as soon as I try to print something, I get the go light solid and the amber error light blinking. All I can do is delete the job.The service error only still only appears after opening the top case.Any clues? by unknown on Nov 21, 2010 at 3:00am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The Attention light is blinking andthe Go light is on. We moved this summer, but left it at our other place, and just recently when my Dad went over there to try to print something out, it didn't work. When you turn it on, you hear the fan give a false start (basically a quick pulse), and the carousel goes through its usual thing. Then it starts up in earnest like it's getting ready to print something. All of a sudden it just stops. Everything stops, and the three lower lights are steady. When I push the Go button, the Go light (bottom of the 3) turns off, but the other two stay on. I looked it up on the HP website and it says it is a carousel motor problem. I called HP, but they said it is out of warranty. I've opened the cover and held the switch with a screw driver so I could watch it, and it goes through its thing like I described (doesn't seem to make a difference whether the imaging drum is in or not), then when it stops it kind of seems to jump back a little bit (the carousel). I hope this all makes sense (I know you like details), and hopefully you also know what to do to fix it. Thanks. printer hp-laserjet share|improve this question edited Jul 15 at 7:41 Hennes 50.7k775120 asked Dec 12 '12 at 2:51 Arlen Beiler 4501623 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Yeah, you're right, I kind of
