for some general maintenence. When I turned it back it I got an error light code of the bottom three lights on solid. HP told me this is a "motor error". The printer doesn't warm up all the way, then it goes to the error lights. Any suggestions? Respond to this 0 any help at all?? by mharris on Dec 19, 2005 at 12:40pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You need to press both buttons in front at the same time and the light pattern will change. Give us the new light pattern and someone will look it up for you. Those 3 lights on indicate a service error and giving us the secondary error will enable someone to narrow http://h20564.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/troubleshootResults?sp4ts.oid=81954 it down. by dmzcompute on Dec 19, 2005 at 1:16pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks DMZ. On the secondary pattern, the alarm light (amber) shuts off and the bottom two green lights flash. I believe it means there is a motor error, but not sure what to check for now. by mharris on Dec 19, 2005 at 1:30pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I do not think this is a motor issue. Lets try a couple of http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/34513 things. First disconnect the printer from the computer and turn it off and leave it off for 5 minutes. Now turn on the printer (without the cable connected to the computer) and see if it comes to ready. If it does press the green button for a couple of seconds to generate a test page. If it prints your issue has to do with the job left in the computer. On the computer, open the printer and delete any print jobs in the spool. Turn the computer off. Reconnect the cable to the computer, turn the computer back on and see if you can send a job from the computer. If that is not the issue, then you have to remove all the toners and the drum unit. Turn the printer on and install each item as the printer flashes for it. by dmzcompute on Dec 19, 2005 at 2:10pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I do have it disconnected from the network. I have left it sitting unplugged and all for more than 5 minutes, still get the error. I cannot print a test page from within the printer. Also, the toner carousel does not turn with this error on, so I cannot reseat all of the toners. I have reseated the drum serveral times, as well as the fuser. I have also done a cold reset on the printer. When I turn the printer on the carousel does not mover at all like normal
