Is it a web application? What is the threading model of your application? How are you managing your connections? Are you using JDBC directly, through something like Spring, through an ORM? –Mark Peters Jun 14 '12 at 2:17 Yes, it is a web application. We are using JDBC directly. –Ianthe Jun 14 '12 at 2:20 Web application, as in you're using raw servlets? And so how are you obtaining a Connection? In the doGet() method of your servlet? When the servlet is instantiated (e.g. in the constructor)? –Mark Peters Jun 14 '12 at 2:22 The connection is established doGet() and it is instantiated onload on the application –Ianthe Jun 14 '12 at 2:25 Can you confirm the port number is correct. Failover connection from tomcat to 2-nodes database works fine except one "special" case. Tomcat application started to loose connection because of SDU mismatch. After that tomcat was trying to reconnect to database. This operation has failed. Number of procceses at database has reached maximum and only restart of tomcat helped to solve a problem. Exceptions occurred soon after I started my io error bad program even there are just two threads. How can this happened? I use a single connection object in the application. and several statement and prestatement objects. I also add synchronized when using the statement objects.
