Using my Flex upload app on windows causes no problems no matter what browser is used, but on Mac on the other hand the upload attempt always fails due to the ioError 2038. The exact error code is this: ioError event:(flash.events::IOErrorEvent)#0 bubbles = false cancelable = false currentTarget = (flash.net::FileReference)#1 creationDate = Tue Jun 21 16:40:36 GMT+0200 2005 creator = (null) modificationDate = Tue Jun 21 16:40:37 GMT+0200 2005 name = "1024.jpg" size = 160966 type = (null) eventPhase = 2 target = (flash.net::FileReference)#1 text = "Error #2038" type = "ioError" the event:ProgressEvent is triggered but then stops caused by the ioError. It is also important to note that the PHP script on the server that handles the uploading, never is reached when making the request from a MAC. From a windows pc there is no problem. What to do? Am I missing mime types or what? I write request.contentType = "multipart/form-data"; As of now I can not use Flex to upload files in real life because of this which is really sad. Another thing that I'm puzzled by is that compiled files (*.swf) is really to big. For instance my source code (*.mxml) is only 15Kb in size but when compiled dazzling 255Kb... Why on earth? 4.1, using Flash upload method. Everything works fine on Windows 7 using IE8, IE9, and Firefox 3. I get the error on a Mac running Snow Leopard using either Firefox or Safari. I do not have the issue in Browser or Ajax mode, but I really need to use Flash so that users can select multiple files at a time in the Add dialog box (this does not appear to work in either Browser or Ajax https://forums.adobe.com/thread/120122 mode). There are no errors in the Events log but all events are marked to be logged in settings. Jeff 12/29/2010 1:06 PM Any news on this error? It does not work using Mac + Safari. Jeff 1/18/2011 7:43 AM To all users, who experience flash error #2038 on Mac based browsers (Firefox, Safari), we have released fix 3 for FileVista v4.1 which solves this problem. This release also includes some other fixes especially for Mac platform.Note that #2038 is a generic error and it may happen on other cases such as using self-signed certificates with SSL (most of these causes are flash plugin bugs which we can not fix). This fix is especially for Mac platform problems, it shoul
21:33 Every time I upload some files to the gallery, I get the Server error: Error #2038 (IO). However, this only happens the very first transfer, after that, http://galleryproject.org/node/99129 everything works fine until I close the transfer window and open it again. I have tried everything suggested in the forums to fix the problem but I can't get it https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/io-error-when-trying-to-upload-photos to work. There seems to be nothing wrong at all with the server, else it would not only affect the first transfer. At least that's what logic tells me. io error XUser login Login/Register floridave Joined:2003-12-22 Posts:27300 Posted: Thu, 2010-11-11 22:06 did you try: FAQ: Why do I get a Error #2038 when I try to upload more than one item Dave _____________________________________________ Blog & G2 || floridave - Gallery Team PooBakery Joined:2010-11-11 Posts:6 Posted: Thu, 2010-11-11 22:25 Of course. HTML upload would be an alternative but it's very tedious for large image collections. What other reasons would there be for the server to not accept the first upload but then accept the rest? floridave Joined:2003-12-22 Posts:27300 Posted: Thu, 2010-11-11 23:46 I don't know. Google will be your friend here. There is other upload methods coming in the future. Dave _____________________________________________ Blog & G2 || floridave - Gallery Team

I'm using Firefox on a Mac; does this make any difference? I'm pulling my hair out! Any help would be appreciated! Michelle wordpressdebego Member Apr 6, 2008, 7:33 PM I have the same problem with Firefox 2.0.0.13 on a PC running XP. The rest of the upgraded 2.5 seems to work just fine. dissfunktional Member Apr 6, 2008, 7:40 PM The photo upload issue is know about and support is working on this bug. It's high on their list. dissfunktional Member Apr 6, 2008, 8:10 PM http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=25723&replies=1 You updated your flash I had assumed; a sticky was placed at the top of the forum long ago - had you already tried this? tellyworth Staff Apr 7, 2008, 3:41 AM Actually an IO Error message is not an issue that is known or being worked on. It suggests an unreliable internet connection. himbeertoni Member Apr 7, 2008, 8:25 AM I have the same problem. I am using the newest Flash, the newest Firefox on a Windows XP computer. I had no problems uploading pictures prior to the 2.5-upgrade or on any other websites, so i don't think its related to the connection. This problem occurs after I select which files to upload. The uploading-bar doesn't move at all and after a while I see the above-mentioned error. please help. raincoaster Member Apr 7, 2008, 8:26 AM Try setting your FF to allow ALL pop-ups. Someone else found it fixed the issue for her, which is odd. Please report back either way. himbeertoni Member Apr 7, 2008, 8:35 AM @raincoaster still not working. raincoaster Member Apr 7, 2008, 9:45 AM No, I just tried it myself and it did nothing for me either. I wonder what made it work for that blogger and not for us. The next suggestion is to update Java as well. I'll give that a shot and report. himbeertoni Member Apr 7, 2008, 10:02 AM i have the latest java-version and the newest flash and shockwave-version. still not working... raincoaster M
