Member Join Date Sep 2010 Posts 7 Memory allocation error when trying to plot I am memory allocation error matlab simulink years past retirement but I have the following problem. I have used ACLT2000 with Win98, WinXP and now I have installed Windows 7. I have memory allocation error c++ this one community project that needs to be plotted. My plotter is a HP8750 Photosmart printer. This has worked with previous versions of Windows. Now I get two error messages. First is "Memory allocation error". I click OK and Second message http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/memory-allocation-error/td-p/3303975 is: HP Photosmart 8700 Series: The plotter configuration cannot be used. Either the driver cannot be found, or the driver has a problem. The None plot device has been substituted. Even my desk PDF will not print. Deadline for project looms. Help... Re: driver. Try uninstalling the plotter and then reinstalling. Uninstall first. Turn off computer. Turn on plotter. Turn on computer. Reinstall driver. Do a test print when offered the opportunity during the plotter driver setup. Did it work? If yes, then open AutoCAD and do a quick test plot as well. If not...well...it might be time to move up to LT 2011. You may have to increase the size of your virtual memory (i.e. - the swap file). Post a complete list of your computer hardware specs. "Memory allocation error" while trying to plot inside of AutoCAD 2000, then you are most likely missing the AutoCAD 2000 http://blog.longbowsoftware.com/installing-plotupdate-exe-for-autocad-2000-on-64bit-windows/ patch called "plotupdate". This blog documents how to install the "plotupdate" patch on Windows7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 64bit. Click here for French, German, Italian and Spanish readme for plotupdate.exe Here's how memory allocation to patch your AutoCAD 2000 with the plotupdate.exe Obtain your copy of the Longbow Converter here Next download the Plotupdate.exe for AutoCAD 2000 zip and unzip to the folder c:\Autodesk, it will unzip to c:\Autodesk\Plotupdate2000 Note: Click here for French, German, Italian and Spanish plotupdate.exe Start the Longbow Converter tool and select the 2nd tab ‘Old AutoCAD Installer Reviver‘, select the path c:\Autodesk\Plotupdate2000, then click memory allocation error the ‘Run Old Installer‘ button When asked “Is this an installation media, a service pack/update or plug-in/app for AutoCAD?” say Yes Next, read and understand all the prompts before pressing OK… Now, I know it’s unheard of these days, but at this point expect to wait at least 45 minutes for the AutoCAD 2000 Plotupdate setup.exe program to appear. Once the setup starts, install as normal (simply accept all defaults). Now run your AutoCAD 2000 and plot as normal Troubleshooting If your PlotUpdate setup is not starting after 45 minutes try rebooting, then restart the steps above. We use CAD LT 2000 for wiring drawings and have had no problems with this. However we recently purchased two Vista OS machines. The problem is we cannot Plot using Autocad LT 2000 on these machines, we just get Memory Allocation Error. Is there any work arround, or is it simply change your OS, or finally update our CAD? Went to the Autodesk site and they seemed to be saying they don't support anything less than 2007 on Vista.
