I get the error when my External USB Hardrive is plugged in on startup/reboot,I know how to get around it as well but can anyone help me with a https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/2x2bxu/help_memory_allocation_error/ permanent fix. The full error is" memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef, size=0x0, File=hfs.c, Line=732 This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! "There are 2 ways for me to get around this error. 1) Disable USB Legacy in Bios ( But I can't use my Keyboard or Mouse then when I boot into Chameleon)2) Unplug My External Harddrive on Boot and attach when logged into Snow Leopard. This is my first Hackintosh and this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232651-memory-allocation-error/ is the only problem I've got with my setup, everything else works great thanks to the help from others on this forum.I've seen the Deadbeef error on many other forums but none really offer a fix , they're just workarounds like unplug your device on boot. However it works with PC-EFI 10.x I guess x is 1. But this one is so old that many features are missing. Is there a better fix than disabling USB Legacy? Btw. The problem occurs because the USB drive has more than one partition! GUID or MBR doesn’t matter. Woran liegt das? Bootloader? - E6600 - 4x1 GB Corsair DDR2-800 - Gigabyte P35-DS4 Rev.1 BIOS F14 Viele Grüße Padriano Back to top #2 riws Posted 23 November 2009 - 08:51 AM riws InsanelyMac V.I.P. memory allocation error Members 6,081 posts Hab dies schon mal gesehen, war mit 10.4.6 ow , d.h. einige Zeit zurück. Also waren viele Neustarts nötig. Upgrade, if necessary. You need a retail Snow Leopard disc. Boot from it and partition the internal drive with the default options (one data partition.) Then call Apple phone sales and buy Lion. You'll be given a code to to download it from the App Store.
