Addr: 0xdeadbeef, Size: 0x0, File: ❤, Line: 732 This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! I am using the latest Chameleon. It did this before and I fixed it but then I reset the bios for some reason and now this is happening. I installed mountain lion and then chameleon began doing this but only it the hackintosh drive , which is in a USB enclosure, is plugged in. I have also tried installing multibeast (using a real Mac, which afterwards still boots mountain lion) and now if I try booting directly from that drive, it says boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: GPT boot0: test boot0: test boot0: test boot0: error Going Bald Moderator Joined: Aug 14, 2010 Messages: 20,335 Mobo: GA-X58A-UD7 Rev.1 BIOS F7 CPU: i7-920 Graphics: Sapphire HD5770 Mac: , , Classic Mac: Oct 22, 2012 at 1:14 AM #2 Going Bald Moderator Joined: Aug 14, 2010 Messages: 20,335 Mobo: GA-X58A-UD7 Rev.1 BIOS F7 CPU: i7-920 Graphics: Sapphire HD5770 Mac: , , Classic Mac: 53kyle said: ↑ Memory allocation error! I get the error when my External USB Hardrive is plugged in https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/memory-allocation-error-0xdeadbeef-and-other-problems.76950/ on startup/reboot,I know how to get around it as well but can anyone help me with a permanent fix. The full error is" memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef, size=0x0, File=hfs.c, Line=732 This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! "There are 2 ways for me to get around this error. 1) Disable USB Legacy in Bios ( But I can't use my Keyboard or http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232651-memory-allocation-error/ Mouse then when I boot into Chameleon)2) Unplug My External Harddrive on Boot and attach when logged into Snow Leopard. This is my first Hackintosh and this is the only problem I've got with my setup, everything else works great thanks to the help from others on this forum.I've seen the Deadbeef error on many other forums but none really offer a fix , they're just workarounds like unplug your device on boot. However it works with PC-EFI 10.x I guess x is 1. But this one is so old that many features are missing. Is there a better fix than disabling USB Legacy? Btw. The problem occurs because the USB drive has more than one partition! GUID or MBR doesn’t matter. Addr=0xdeadbeef, Size=0x0" - if no VESA resolution defined in com.apple.Boot.plist Previous issue - Next issue Reported by Al Schar, Jul 13, 2010 Bootloader stops with Memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef, Size=0x0 if no Graphics Mode is set in com.apple.boot.plist Conti has fixed this in gui.c for his myhack installer for months. I add the corrected gui.c The fix is added lines 589-596 and changed 1700-1711 gui.c.zip - 11.21kB Comment 1 by blackosx, Jul 15, 2010 Thanks for pointing out Conti's fix Al Schar (Thanks Conti), I have added it to my branch. It fixed an issue where i was using a theme with a blank value for screen_height/screen_width. http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/commit/180/ Comment 2 by Tamás Kosárszky, Jul 16, 2010 A similar patch has been committed to the trunk as well. I think it's better to initialize the screen_params[] with proper default values and possibly override the dimensions with validated input values. http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/commit/181/ Status: Fixed Sign in to reply to this comment.
