Get this same error message, but it is coming when you click on the web hyperlink button. When you are trying to set up a hyperlink to a web site. The box does not open to be able to put the pasted web address in. Anoying to say the least. Happened after the last updates from Microsoft. Where do I change the rights in the Registry so this works like it did before. Am not using Microsoft Exchange. Thanks for any help that I can get. Nettiedt, Feb 12, 2008 #4 Thomas A. Rowe Guest Don't use that feature, instead open the remote site in a browser and then copy and paste the address into the hyperlink dialog. -- ============================================== Thomas A. Solved Error Browsing Files In Outlook 2007 Posted on 2012-01-25 Outlook MS microsoft word Word MS Excel 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 1,395 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-12 Hello, I am experiencing an issue very similiar to the one posted here. http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.frontpage/browse_thread/thread/bc5e7ae09677e877/5b4aeac10183923a?lnk=st&q=%22An+error+occurred+while+browsing+files%22+firefox&rnum=1&pli=1 When creating or replying to email in outlook 2007, I go to the insert tab, click hyperlink, and then click on the globe icon with the magnifying glass (alt text is "Browse microsoft word an the web") and get an error saying "An error occurred while browsing files". This error also occurs by following similar steps in Word and Excel. I have tried resetting my default browser back to IE with no luck. I have also checked to make sure that the my documents folder being network mapped wasnt the cause of the issue. Does anyone have any other ideas about how to fix this error? 0 Question by:bnrtech Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bybnrtech Uninstalling firefox fixes the issue.
