: United states English) on one machine , dettached the .mdf and .ldf files and tried them attaching them on SQL server 2008(language : Spanish) on different machine. But i got the following error: Attach database failed..... (Microsoft SQL Server , Error : 602) Would the language difference be the problem. If no , what would be it? Friday, February 11, 2011 6:54 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote The language has nothing to do with it. Error 602 is typically an error you get when you try to attach the database on a lower version. Double check @@version on both servers. Keep in mind that if the database comes from SQL 2008 R2, you cannot attach it on R1. This error can occur if a stored procedure references a dropped table, or metadata is corrupted. Drop and re-create the stored procedure, or execute DBCC CHECKDB. do you have the full string of the error? if the GUI doesnt give you much, you can always run sp_attach_db from query windows and get the detailed output. If you think my suggestion is useful, please rate it as helpful. If it has helped you to resolve the problem, please Mark it as Answer.
