Same error message. Same problem in alfa 5.3 odbc driver. We had to install a Visual Studio C++ redistrubutable, then all worked. When the error message is Data source name not found and no default driver specified then you do not have a driver installed for MySQL. The ODBC driver for MySQL is called MyODBC.
