posted in Work Arounds / No Comments The other day I was installing MySQL Connector ODBC 5.2.6 x64 http://iwantanitcareer.com/index.php/2013/10/15/mysql-connectorodbc-5-2-installation-error-1918system-error-code-126-work-around/ (mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.6-winx64.msi) on a Windows 2008 Server R2 and I keep getting an error message about a module that could not be found. The exact error in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17487569/using-the-correct-mysql-odbc-driver-in-windows event viewer was: Product: MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.2 -- Error 1918.Error installing ODBC driver MySQL ODBC 5.2 ANSI Driver, ODBC error 13: The setup routines for the mysql odbc MySQL ODBC 5.2 ANSI Driver ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126: The specified module could not be found. (C:\Program Files\MySQL\Connector ODBC 5.2\myodbc5S.dll).. Verify that the file MySQL ODBC 5.2 ANSI Driver exists and that you can access it. So after searching for a while on Google and could not be without any success, I get out the trusty old SysInternals ProcMon and monitor the installation of the MySQL Connector. Come to find out the installation was looking for a specific .NET dll on the system that was not there. So I search on Google some more regarding this file missing. Someone else had the same problem when installing a completely different application. So I followed their advice of copying C:\Windows\System32\msvcr100_clr0400.dll to C:\Windows\System32\msvcr100.dll and continued with the install. The process worked and the driver was successfully installed and tested. Just thought other people might find that tip useful. < NO TAGS > « TracemasterVue Simple Client Install Comments (0) › No comments yet. To do this I downloaded the mySQL ODBC connector from the mySQL website and installed it. As I am on a 64-bit system I went for the 64-bit version. I then discovered when trying to connect Access to mySQL that my installation of Office is actually 32-bit so the driver doesn't work. So I removed the 64-bit ODBC driver and installed the 32-bit one. Problem is, when I go into control-panel -> Administrative Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC) and try to add a new data source, the only options for the mySQL drivers seem to point to the old directory where the 64-bit drivers were. It then fails as it can't find the dlls with system error 126. How do I get it to show the 32-bit drivers? mysql ms-access odbc share|improve this question edited Jul 5 '13 at 11:24 Imane Fateh 1,9783920 asked Jul 5 '13 at 11:13 harryg 3,5621357106 Hope this would be helpful: getdowntonight.co.uk/2009/11/… –Sathish D Jul 5 '13 at 11:20 1 That is indeed very helpful.
