First a little background. I installed MySQL 5.6 the setup routines for the mysql odbc 5.3 ansi driver error code 126 64-bit on a new Windows 2012 server without any problems. I was able to install the 32-bit connector with no errors. The 64-bit connector would always fail with an error code 126 on the myodbc5S.dll. It error 1918 error installing odbc driver mysql odbc 3.51 driver odbc error 13 turns out there is a system DLL that the myodbc5S.dll requires. This DLL is named msvcr100.dll and it lives in Windows\System32. I copied this DLL from a working Windows 2008 R2 64-bit system into the new 2012 System32 directory and the installer completed and I could now edit DSNs. I've moved from a laptop with Win XP to a new one with Windows 7 (64 bit). I've sucessfully installed Libre Office 3.6.4.3 and MySQL 5.2 and migrated my databases sucessfully, (can open and edit with the command line) but I'm unable to establish ODBC connections using mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.2-winx64. The error is: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an archiecture mismatch between the Driver and the Application. Does this make sense to anyone? What can be done about it? Thanks for the info, but running C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe gives the same error message. I don't see how that helps with the problem. However, LO is 32bit, and thus requires a 32bit ODBC driver in order to communicate with your msyql server, but if your mysql server is 64bit (which you don't say), you will have an architecture mismatch. Either make sure everything is 32bit : ODBC, mysql server, LO (no choice there for the moment, I believe) or else be prepared to encounter problems. That, at least, has been my experience.
