Nothing happens. Your attempt has clearly failed. A brief check confirms that the problem is not limited to one document or one app. You can’t print anything. Now what? The number of causes and fixes for print failures runs wide and deep across the Mac troubleshooting landscape. Here’s a http://www.macworld.com/article/2029528/mac-troubleshooting-what-to-do-when-you-cant-print.html checklist of the more common solutions. 1. Check the Print dialog box An exclamation mark in front of the printer’s name warns of trouble. After a failed print attempt, press Command-P again. You’ll likely see a badge icon, such as an exclamation mark, next to the printer’s name in the Print dialog box. You may also see a message appear, explaining the cause of the failure and how to fix it. Find the right printer: One especially common scenario occurs if you print to more than one printer. You may have not selected the one you intended. If your Mac is a laptop, you may have last printed to your cousin’s printer while visiting her in Topeka, but now you’re back home in Portland. The simple fix is to choose your intended printer from the Print dialog box’s Printer pop-up menu. If your print queue has paused, get it rolling again by clicking Resume. Resume a paused printer: Another common situation is that the printer was previously paused. If so, you’ll see an error message. Clicking the Re

Everyone can see everyone else, everything is open and shared. Normally, the printer is always on; however, we no printer installed were away over the New Year's for a few days, and have unplugged it. Yesterday, I turned the printer back on. It dutifully connected to the network. It is visible on the network from either laptop. There is no indication of errors. There is just one problem... it won't print. When I ask it to print a test page from a Win 7, the print job flashes in the list of print jobs (Status - Printing), then disappears. Nothing ever prints though. Here is what I've tried so far: restarting the printer restarting the modem/router restarting the laptop removing and adding back the printer printing a test page by pressing a button on the printer (to make sure it's not a hardware issue - and it is not; the test page printed fin) checking the IP addresses of the printer and the driver (not sure if I'm doing it right, but it seems to match) run Windows Troubleshooter on the printer (it says it can detect no problems with the printer) At a loss as to what else to do. Can you try to print as image? Sometimes if you remove the printer driver and re-install it, you can then print the pdf. Mike Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Think about all the corporates with locked down settings for example. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3.
