Solved Outlook 2003 says "there is no printer installed" but it's not true Posted on 2007-12-06 Software-Other Outlook 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 3,932 Views Last https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/291174 Modified: 2010-04-21 Hi, I have a situation in which Outlook 2003 does not recognize printers that are installed to a user's profile. There are several printers installed and the user can print to any of them from Word or Excel but cannot print from Outlook 2003, and also cannot print from Internet Explorer. When they try to print, the error that pops us says "Printing is not available, there is https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23006163/Outlook-2003-says-there-is-no-printer-installed-but-it's-not-true.html no printer installed". Any help you can offer to fix this would be appreciated. The article applies to situations where printing does not work at all. But printing IS working for other apps; just not IE and Outlook. I did already try changing the default printer. 0 LVL 7 Overall: Level 7 Outlook 2 Software-Other 1 Message Accepted Solution by:SLafferty19832007-12-06 Someone else mentioned where they just made a configuration change, they didn't mention what change, to the printer and it started working. 0 Message Author Comment by:bradber2007-12-10 I finalyy figured this out. The solution was to uninstall all HP printing software related to the D7260 printer that was locally attached. Reboot and let Windows detect and install the printer (drivers only, w/o HP software). After that the user could
cartridges as I've mainly bought it for printing photos. However, on occasion, I also need to print out some other things which are usually emails. To prevent wasting precious ink, I always change my printing settings to use black ink only (greyscale), use the https://www.msoutlook.info/question/add-a-printer-specifically-for-outlook economy/draft mode of my printer and sometimes even set it to print double-sided. These are https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Print-attachments-received-in-email-messages-30fb682d-d311-4a17-ba5e-8409ca6f776e quite some clicks each time I need to print and I actually sometimes forget to set it. Is there any way to make this the default when printing from Outlook? No, as these settings are specific for your printer, you cannot control them via Outlook. However, you can make these changes the default for your printer by setting them in no printer Control Panel. Another way to go would be to add your printer twice; each with different defaults. You can then simply select this printer without needing to make the changes each time you print from Outlook. Change default Printer Settings via Control Panel You’ll find an overview of your installed printers in the following location: Windows XPStart-> Printer and Faxes Windows 7 and Windows VistaStart-> Devices and Printers Windows 8 and Windows 10 Open the Start no printer installed Screen and type: printer From the search results select: Devices and Printers Now right click on your printer and choose “Printing preferences” and look for the color and quality settings. Color printing options for my HP printer. Note: The “Printing preferences” dialog is often heavily customized by the printer driver supplied by the printer manufacturer to control the options specific to your printer. Some printers may also offer the option to define multiple “Printing Templates” or “Printing Shortcuts” which allows you to configure different printing settings for each template which you can select when printing. This can be an alternative to adding your printer twice as described below. Adding the same printer twice Adding your printer twice to your computer may sound strange at first but Windows makes a distinction between printers (software and settings) and printing devices (hardware). So to use the correct terms; You're going to add and configure 2 printers for a single printer device in Windows. This allows you to set different settings for each printer and thus allows you to quickly change the settings for your output by simply selecting the other printer. In the Devices and Printers section in Control Panel choose: Add a printer Cancel any autodiscovery of printers and choose to add a local printer (even if your already connected printer is a network printer): Windows XPLocal prin
in email messages Applies To: Outlook 2010, Less Applies To: Outlook 2010 , More... Which version do I have? More... You can print attachments in Microsoft Outlook 2010 without opening them. You can print attachments from an open email message or from the Reading Pane. If a message has multiple attachments, you can also print one or all attachments. To print an attachment from an open message or the Reading Pane, do the following: Click the attachment icon below the message header, and then on the Attachments tab, in the Actions group, click Quick Print. To print attachments when you print a message, first make sure that the Print attached files option is selected. After this setting is turned on, it remains on until you turn it off. In the message list, click the message that has attachments that you want to print. Click the File tab. Click Print. Under Printer, click Print Options. In the Print dialog box, under Print Options, select the Print attached files check box. Note: Attachments print only to the default printer. For example, if printer A is the default, and you choose to print a message that has an attachment on printer B, the message prints on printer B, but the attachment prints on printer A. If you want to send the attachment to a specific printer, double-click the attachment to open it, and then in the program that opens the attachment, use the print command.
