> "No printers are installed" error, but multiple in print setup 2009-04-13 06:34:22 FVarro Registered: Apr 13 2009 Posts: 2 I'm trying to print to an epson printer, https://acrobatusers.com/forum/printing-prepress/no-printers-are-installed-error-multiple-print-setup/ and I also have a canon and Cutepdf writer installed on my XP machine as printers. For every program they print totally fine. However, in the last week Adobe 7.0 reader stopped seeing any https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/100386-win-7-print-error-no-printers-installed-and-test-pages-spool-don-t-print printers when I try to print. The odd things are: 1. I reinstalled adobe to 9.1 to no avail 2. When I click on print setup, all my printers are listed, and I can no printer screw with their settings. I have not tried re-installing the printers yet, partially because I don't want to go hunting around for the disks when the software obviously CAN see the printers, at least in certain circumstances. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Acrobat Pro 7.1 was stating "Before you can fperform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." The problem is I can get to Page Setup and there are a dozen printers installed on my machine and ALL of them work from every other app on my system. I installed Acrobat Reader 9.1.3 and it has the same problem. Before I dump Adobe's products all together and go to a 3rd party PDF product like Foxit I'd really like to see if I can get this fixed. My system is Vista Ultimate SP2 32-bit and this even happens logged in as a domain administrator. UAC is disabled.BTW, I followed the advice in the previous post's link but to no avail.Thanks...Brian Top 2009-09-25 08:11:19 #3 lkassuba Registered: Jun 28 2007 Posts: 3636 Terabyte Computers wrote:I'm having

Join Now I have several Window 7 machines purchased in December, they are all running the same windows 7 image created by me. We had a new hire start a couple of weeks ago and everything has been fine, except for the print spooler service dumping a couple of times (also happens on one or two other machines a service restart rectifies the issue), This morning, however, he is unable to print receiving an error message, this is paraphrased but, "No printers installed you can install a printer from the control panel" Now the printers are shared network printers from the server shared out by active directory that everyone uses, he is the only one having the problem, and until today printed to them just fine. So anyways I go check out the devices and printers control panel and all the printers are there with no errors indicated. The appropriate printer is shown as being the default printer. I try a test print, and it goes to the printer queue the status on the document is "spooling" it stays there and explorer becomes unresponsive, then explorer restarts. I have restarted the spooler service with no success. I have run sfc /scannow with no success I have run a chkdsk and checked for bad sectors with no success. I have deleted and re-added the printers with no success I have searched the Internet for the issue and the closest I have come to the same issue is the print spooler service not running, but in that case the printers were also not showing up in the Printers and Devices until the spooler service was restarted. Aside from re-imaging the machine I am not sure hoe to proceed. Obviously the printer subsystem is hosed, how do I fix it?
