Getting printer not installed when printing an email with outlook 2003 Started by Steven McElrea , 09 June 2009 - 01:39 PM Login to Reply 11 replies to this topic Steven McElrea Members #1 Steven McElrea 4 posts Posted citrix printers not mapping 09 June 2009 - 01:39 PM Hello,I have a problem, and I'll try to explain it the best way I can seeing I'm not a Citrix expert. We are using Win2k3 with Presentation Server 4.5 (R04 installed).Clients are using the Xenapp verison 11, and are accessing the published applications via the web interface only.Published application is Office 2003 SP2 FrenchThe main problem we are having is this:-User opens e-mail with Excel attachment-User tries to print an Excel attachment, either right clicks or double clics on attachment-Excel opens, user tries to print-Excel gives a "No default printer Installed"-User is presented with server's default printer (XPS, etc...)Resetting the session from my end seems to be the only way. Also this happens when trying to print PDF files from Outlook as well, and sometimes printing the email too.I've been looking high & low for a solution does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance,StevenEdited by: Steven Mc

Refer to CTX881017 - Troubleshooting Imported Network Print Servers with XenApp.For Universal Print Driver (UPD) troubleshooting information, refer to the following document: http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/247373-getting-printer-not-installed-when-printing-an-email-with-outlook-2003/ CTX105158 – Troubleshooting Citrix ICA Printing - Quick Reference Guide Instructions To troubleshoot printer autocreation, complete the following steps: In Citrix Connection Configuration, double-click the ICA listener port, select Client Settings, and ensure Connect client printers at logon is selected. For Presentation Server 4.5 and later, configure these settings using the Terminal Services Configuration tool. Ensure that the following check boxes are not selected under Client http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX681954 Settings: Disable Windows Client Printer MappingDisable Client LPT Mapping Both of these settings prevent client printers from being autocreated on the system, and prohibit the client printer from being manually added during the session. If Inherent User Config is selected in step 1, ensure that connect client printers at logon is selected in UserConfig for each user account within User Manager for Domains or the Environment tab within Active Directory Users and Computers/Computer Management-Local Users and Groups (for Active Directory 2000, 2003). In Active Directory 2008, open the Server Manager utility and expand the Configuration node. From there you can manage your users and groups. From the client machine: Make a custom ICA connection directly to the server desktop and log on.Open the printer folder inside the ICA session.Add Printer > Network printer and expand Client network.Select Client printer and Add.The result may indicate: A suitable driver must be added.Access is denied (permissions issue). The printer is not seen under the client network (the printer must be defined in the local client print folder). If a Microsoft server cannot be expanded with a shared printer (possibly an operating system/RPC issue). The "Could not connect to the printer

XenApp 7.6 - Printer policy applied but no printer (drivers Printserver and Workers identical) Started by R. van den Hoek no printer , 17 November 2015 - 11:51 AM Login to Reply XenApp 7.6 Printer policy MCS 6 replies to this topic R. van den Hoek Members #1 R. van den Hoek 11 posts Posted 17 November 2015 - 11:51 AM I have a XenApp 7.6 site with a Golden Image provisioned with MCS. The Printer drivers on the Golden Image are identical with the File-/Printserver. When no printer installed a user starts a session on a worker two Citrix Print Policies are applied: Auto Create client printers with the setting "Auto-create the client's default printer only" (and some other settings) and Default Printer Policy to assign a printer to the room the user is in. Strange enough, somehow and sometimes it seems the user always gets the client's default printer (Policy 1) but not alwas the default printer from the Printserver (Policy 2). It sometimes helps to go to the eventviewer of the Worker the user has his/her session running and search for the error 'cannot add printer (driver missing) and click on the UNC of the printer and therby manually connect to the Printserver's printer the user needs. Then the driver gets installed again en the user gets the printer in his session. Sometimes de Printspooler on the Worker needs to be restarted and sometimes both options don't work. Can anyone shed some light on this? 1411-372917-1904892 Back to top Devulapalli Sateesh Kumar Citrix Employees #2 Devulapalli Sateesh Kumar 4 posts Posted 03 December 2015 - 02:44 AM Could you please confirm if the network print
