While testing itfrom my program,I calledthis vbs file10 times and tried to open and process the same document. I got the following error 5-7 times... Error # 5140 - C:\Temp\TEST.DOC - Word cannot print. There is no printer installed. Normally 3 out of 10 documents will be printed successfully, which proves the printer is working... In my code, I open the document as read-only and print it in foreground printing mode to a printing queue (one of the shared printerin our network)... I tried to print to other printers on our network and got the same error. Am Imissing something? Any help or hint will be highly appreciated. Below is my script. Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") MyFile = CStr("C:\Temp\TEST.DOC") On Error Resume Next Set objWord = WScript.CreateObject("Word.Application") On Error Resume Next 'Open document in read-only mode Set objDoc = ObjWord.Documents.open(MyFile, ,true) '----------------------------- 'Change the doument '----------------------------- if Err.Number <> 0 then WScript.Echo "Error # " & CStr(Err.Number) & " - " & MyFile & " - " & Err.Description objWord.Quit WScript.Quit end If On Error Resume Next objWord.ActiveDocument.PrintOut(False) ' turn off background printing if Err.Number <> 0 then WScript.Echo "Error # " & CStr(Err.Number) & " - " & MyFile & " - " & Err.Description objWord.Quit WScript.Quit end If objDoc.Close(0) objWord.Quit
