Brother Door Open Error
in to comment 0 I have ONLY JUST managed to fix three of these extremely simply after months of having this fault keep coming up.* Open the back cover* Pull the flap down that hides the orange roller on the fuser (Careful it's Hot on that fuser!!)* Locate the thin piece of plastic that runs from the centre to the right hand side. This bar is the problem* 3/4 along the right hand side, there is brother hl 2270dw the printer cover is open a sticky out bit on this bar that should sit in a hole.* I have found three printers where this was not located properly. Once I located it properly, the 'door open' error went away. by unknown on Sep 15, 2008 at 1:58am Add comment Please sign in to comment Thank you so much for listing this fix. Ask Your Own Printers Question Customer: replied6 years back cover open ago. i did indeed Expert: Colin Vincent replied6 years ago. OkIt's a quirk of this printer that if you turn the power off and on again with a paper jam still present it will give a back door open error when you turn it on again. That indicates the printer thinks you have a paper jam still in the fuser area of the printer. If you open the front of the printer and remove the drum etc and make sure it is clear of any paper and then go to the rear and open the door. To the right of the fuser you should see a tab that you can pull to open the fuser cover. (see pic)Check for anything caught in the fuser area and if found remove it.Then put everything back and check the status of the printer. (may require a power off to fully clear)All being well it will be back up and running. Colin Vincent is online now I have a Intellifax 2820 and the lcd reads, close the back Resolved Question: I have a Intellifax 2820 and the lcd reads, "close the back cover. Back cover open."It is about one year old with very light use.The machine is inoperative. I have opened and closed the back cover, looked for sensors, held the cover in different positions, tried menu settings, power on and off, all to no availso far. Any suggestions? Submitted: 5 years ago. Category:Printers Share this conversation Expert: Colin Vincent replied5 years ago. Colin Vincent : Hi there. The back cover error is slightly misleading on some Brother models. The problem is usually a paper jam within the unit itself but an anomoly of the software in the printer means it a paper jam is present at power on it reports it as a back cover error. You need to have a good check inside the printer mechanism for any paper that may be triggering this response. If you need some detail on opening the printer to check for jams then the Brother support page on the link below has some diagrams etc to guide you. If you find any paper remove it and then power back on and all being well the cover error will have cleared.Colin Vincent : Link to support page re jam clearing. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us_ot/en/faq/faq/000000/000600/000096/faq000696_002.html?reg=us&c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=fax2820_us_as&Cat=11Customer: thank you,Customer: I pulled it apart, found found an insignificant looking piece, put it back togetherCustomer: and it works.Customer: Thanks again Colin Vincent and other Printers Specialists are ready to help you Ask your own question now Share this conversation Related Printers Questions Question Date Submitted Have 4500 e-all-in-one series.
