077-901 Paper Jam Xerox
Hi, I have a Dell 3130cn and it constantly give me problems. This time, when I try to print a page from the main paper tray, the page comes out about http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN295521 3/4 of the way, but then gets stuck. No big deal, because I can easily pull it out. However, then it gives me an error message that says "Open Front Cover, Remove Paper" and "Paper Jam 077-900" I'm guessing this is because the sensor sensed that the paper didn't make it out 100%. Then when I fiddle with opening and closing the cover, the http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/t/19459154 page reprints again and does the 3/4 jam thing again. How can I get it so the paper makes it out all the way? I think this will solve everything? thanks! All Replies Posted by Printster on 30 Jul 2012 7:15 If the paper is pulling most of the way out of the printer and giving that message then most likely the fuser has failed(although it could still be the particular paper you are using). If you are still under warranty Dell will cover the cost of a replacement fuser if they determine that is the source of the issue. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.Step2Turn off the printer.Step3Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.Step4Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.Step5If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.Step6If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.St

It is probably due to moving it and the bottom paper tray alignment gets out of whack. I inspected all of the gear train and didn't find any worn or missing teeth. I suspect a paper jam started it and the user turned the printer around to open the back door. Since the handles are on the printer the tray doesn't move with it which allows it to separate and possibly jam a pickup drive gear.
