Re: PDF brings PCL XL Errors michael_northdakota May 22, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to pwillener) Hello,Yes I've tried that and it does work, however we send these PDFs to all in our team and unfortunately we can't ask everyone to go into their Advanced settings and Print as Image every time we send a PDF it's just not reasonable for them to do, and we have a lot in our team. So within InDesign we have decided to Print the Indesign file to PDF instead of exporting it and then print the PDF as it is - it seems to have worked. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: PDF brings PCL XL Errors michael_northdakota Jun 12, 2014 2:44 AM (in response to michael_northdakota) Hello, In the end we found a different solution - print as image did work, but we realised it was the Oswald font that was not compatible with these printers so we decided to removed the oswald fonts from our Indesign and exported the files without Oswald. Works. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions Go to original post Actions M

A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a pcl xl error PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! Solved HP Printer will not print PDF files Posted on 2012-07-16 Printers and Scanners 1 Verified Solution 14 Comments 2,608 Views Last Modified: 2012-07-17 One of our users is unable to print .pdf files to an HP Color Laserjet 2025n printer. However, everyone else can print .pdf files to that printer, and the user can print the same .pdf files to a different printer just fine. The user is currently running Windows 7 with all of the latest updates. I have tried reinstalling Adobe Reader and the printer driver. The printers are installed via group policy, which pulls the drivers down from a print server. So, everyone has the same printer installation/driver. When trying to print, it takes a little longer than it should to show as "Printing" and eventually just prints out the following error message: PCL XL Error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: illegalTag Operator: Ox2z Position: 2 The driver it is using is HP Color Laserjet cp2020 series PCL 6. Obviously, these are network printers. The issue occurs whether connected wirelessly or over Ethernet. 0 Question by:brholmberg Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 17 Active today Best Solution bypjam Just a shot but are they using the Adobe Reader X by any chance.
