This is not really a Python issue. You need to either give the user write permissions to that folder or you need to run the script as root. To run the script as root: sudo python your_python_script.py I believe you'll need to be the Admin user for that to work. 'sudo' is a command that means 'do this as the super user'. To change the permissions of your folder you could try sudo chmod a+rw /path/to/folder/that/you/want/to/write/to Again, you would be doing this as the su

share via cifs Issues related to configuring your network Post Reply Print view Search Advanced search 5 posts • Page 1 of 1 adamf Posts: 3 Joined: 2014/11/08 10:23:56 Mount OS X share via cifs Quote Postby adamf » 2014/11/08 10:34:57 I have CentOS 7 running in Virtualbox on OS X Yosemite and would like to connect from CentOs to a shared directory ~/Downloads/Transmission on the Mac host using CIFS. I have turned on file sharing and defined the share giving everyone read/write.When I try to mount the share it fails. I've tried with and without the domain, using a credentials file but all I ever get is "Mount error(13) Permission denied"This is the log from Terminal showing permissions on the Mac and attempted mount from the CentOS machine (which is called "transmission").The host and guest are using bridged networking and both can ping each other and connect to internet. I can also connect via ssh.Any ideas what I'm missing? The same VM when running on Windows host would mount the share fine (using domain WORKGROUP).Code: Select alladams-MBP:Downloads adam$ ls -l
