Error 691" If I try to connect twice I can get on line but am usually disconnected from mobil broadband after a minute or two. I am using UM150, on Windows XP, Compaq Presario V2000 laptop. Sometimes I can keep it connected if I am downloading something. 17084Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 2 replies 1. Re: Error message 691 robnc410 Mar 15, 2010 8:09 PM (in response to Denniger) I have been getting the same error message sporadically for the last year. Each time, Verizon support has helped me solve the problem, but I called them today and they told me they believe my UM150 is broken and of course "out of warranty". I'm not sure I agree because all of the lights are working properlyand my computer states the device is working properly. Error 691 is a username and password error. Does anyone know how to check and/or change the username and password? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Error message 691 Brothergrim Mar 16, 2010 2:27 AM (in response to robnc410) If you are getting the user name and password issues. Go into your network and find teh dial up network connections. They will be called national access or Verizon something. Delete all of them. Reboot your computer. Go into the vzam and run detect device in the newer versions or in the older click on options and run wizard. Then try and connect. If this does not work call customer care 800-922-0204. Ask for tech support. Tell them you deleted and resetup dun. Have them check your connection for a possible DMU reset. Hi, I'm using a Verizon Wireless https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/163802 BroadbandAccess card for internet anywhere. I keep getting a RAS Error 691. But the second time I try to connect, it does, and stays connected for a couple minutes. What's wrong? I guess the internet CAN still hide. I have 14 cards that are getting this error and so far any fix they provide will last just a few days. Here is what we do to fix the issue, it works about 50% of the time. Open VZACCESS Manager, make sure you have the latest version. Hit Ctrl-T. It will bring up a window. Type: AT$QCMIPEP=1 Hit Enter AT$QCMIP=1 Hit Enter Alt-F4 (to exit) Try to connect. If this works and you later have the same issue. Open Device Manager, Model, Pantech USB modem. Go to the advanced tab and enter this command. AT$QCMIPMHSPI=300,1 Save and exit and try to connect. I would call them to get a trouble ticket as it is taking days for a "permanant" fix so I would get in line. Good luck. I pay sixty bucks a month so I can connect to a reasonably fast EVDO broadband connection from just about anywhere. It's becoming a standard accessory for business travellers who don't want to hassle with conventional wireless. A few days ago, there was a lengthy delay when I clicked the Connect button - "wait while your equipment is updated," something like that. It stopped working after that, although I didn't recognize the coincidence for a while. I just knew that this error message came up when I tried to connect. Here we go again! I logged onto the Verizon Wireless web site and confirmed that the account was active and unchanged. The wireless modems have phone numbers associated with them for billing - in the Dell "Mobile Broadband Card Utility" software, click on File / Device Properties to see the phone number. Dell distributes the software on the Drivers page for its notebooks, under Communications. I downloaded an updated version and tried to install it. Nope - "the version on your computer is newer." Nuh uh!
